eBay schmuck everyone should add to their blocked bidder list

Recently I sold a replica Mark X Scanner on eBay. The buyer, "mikdugg" sent me some questions prior to purchase
and I answered them. He then purchased one a few days later on September 26th. I shipped it out the same day via
the USPS. He sent me an email 10 days layer asking if I could locate the package, before I could reply he sent a second
message saying it was with customs pending his payment of the VAT.

He was complaining because of the VAT as if I had any control in it. He emailed me "I wasn't told there mite be extra charges
I thought I had paid that in the delivery charge?" to which I replied that neither my listing nor our conversation discussed
my paying his VAT or even the subject of VAT. I said that he lives in the UK and as such should be intimately familiar with
VAT, certainly well enough to know it may be charged for any packages.

I believe he was fishing for a partial refund but I did not make any such offer. I simply stated that he needs to address VAT
with his local taxing authority.

That same day, on schedule, he left a negative feedback comment that in one phone call to eBay I was able to have removed. I
won't say how or why in the event such information makes its way to him, I'd rather he not know how so he doesn't know to avoid
doing what he did in the future, for some other sellers benefit.

The strange thing is now, in the item description, it is listed as a closed refund.

Return date: 10/07/14
Return ID: 5001586145
Reason: Not as pictured or described
Quantity: 1
This return was completed on 08 Oct, 2014

Clearly he lied to eBay, nothing new there but eBay has not charged me nor did they send me any communiqué regarding
a case opened/closed. When I contacted eBay---they seemed as surprised as I and couldn't offer any information. There
isn't anything showing in PayPal either.

It chaps my ash to think he got one over on me/eBay by getting something for nothing. I share this with all of you so you
can add this ***** to your blocked bidder list.

For the curious, here is a YouTube link to him he emailed me early on. Can you say "Deliverance"? http://youtu.be/MnJhbnBc9vw

Here is his contact info, partially redacted. Anyone that has dealt with him will be able to fill in the blanks.

He actually made a video for YT with the scanner!
It is exactly what was in the listing, what a %$#@*&% *****!
Schmucks YT

Apparently the dead beat loser reads either the TPZ or the Star Trek Prop&Costume forum and is a member.

He sent me this via eBay:
Dear chronowerxs,
If you leave any more comments I'm going to report you to ebay and YouTube! Get over it!
- mikdugg

To this I say, hey Mr. Tooth Decay,

I'm actually just getting started! I'm going to post on the RPF next!

OH man...

Ebay can be overzealous with their refunds sometimes, letting you keep the money and they get their money back as well as the item.

It's just dishonest, and frankly a bit disgusting when people do stuff like this. It helps remind us that not everyone is honest even if we ourselves are.

All in all, I'm mostly glad you didn't get reemed in the process.

What the hell... Do people never understand customs? If it gets stuck in custom it's not the seller's fault!! How hard is this to be understood, seriously... Be honest, and pay the extra charge, if you're not happy with it, then, don't and let the parcel be returned. I will never understand this...

Have you been charged for the "refund" yet? Where does the money come from if he had a refund and you have not been taking any money out?

Haha the tooth decay, by the way xD

He apparently has two eBay accounts.
The YouTube video he sent me via an eBay PM has a link in the comments
to a second eBay user.

So, be sure to add rubyell88 as well as mikdugg to your blocked bidder list.

I just hung up with eBay. They seem very cagey with giving any details and one agent even
professed she couldn't see very many details about the return. She wouldn't even confirm
or deny if he was refunded. She would only confirm the case is marked closed and that it
would not be reopened or impact my account.

Very strange.

All I can do is warn others and put a message on my YouTube channel.

So the rat ******* somehow took the money back? That's ridiculous! How can eBay even do a refund when this is a cross country transaction.

I have been reading eBay policies...there is some language about forgeries and such where eBay will refund a buyer
without requiring the buyer to return the item but I would think in such cases that the seller would be on the hook to eBay.

I'll of course watch my PP account but even without the ding to my wallet, it does chap my arss that he may have gotten one over
on eBay and that I was an unwitting participant in his scheme.

That buyer is a loser on every level. But typical eBay, too - protect the buyer at all costs and offer the seller virtually no protection at all. It's why I rarely sell anything on eBay anymore, their one-sided policy makes it so difficult to sell it's just not worth the hassle, imo.
