The build continues and now back to the build thread. The cobra neck is finally connected with stage 27. Four stages left to complete.

No apologies necessary and wiping your content was not necessary as it added value to the parts build discussion . I just want to state that was never my intention
Thanks and no worries but I did not want to digress from your content. I recently signed up for the D as they were closing subscriptions in the UK so I have only received the first 2 shipments so far and have not even started it yet but I would rather have the opportunity to build it than miss out all together. I have been reading your thread with interest and know this is not perfect and there are issues but as I believe you have already said this is the only "reasonably priced" studio scale version out there so after looking at your thread and others I went for it. I have already built the Falcon, Hatchett Terminator, Delorean and I am finishing up the Ecto-1 so have some idea of what I am in for. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

The build continues with stage 28. Some more panels and the large under saucer section just laid on the top as it will eventually connect with the cobra neck and the battle bridge. Work has started on the other nacelle. 3 stages until completion. I have a sinking feeling the premium base will not be offered but I may have to build a solution when the time comes. GC

The build continues with stage 29. The underside of the saucer section hull is almost closed up and the other nacelle is almost completed. The test battery throughout the process is now permanently mounted with a magnetic hull section that will go on top of it. There are 2 Stages left so not much left now. Also the other shoe finally fell off from Fanhome and their customer service folks. They will bluntly not sell me the premium base because I did not start the project with them at the start of a new subscription as I was about 65% in with Eaglemoss before they went into bankruptcy and they "Fanhome" took over. To be blunt that answer really pissed me off because I asked them at the restart of the subscription IF the premium base would be available and I was assured it would at the end..... frankly that's a horsecrap response and it will cost them further subscriptions from me in the future.... as I had the Batmobile and Ecto-1 in mind. That also permanently cemented my decision to not go forward with anymore part work builds. Basically I am voting with my wallet but they didn't seem to really care. GC

98% done. Awaiting the last under saucer side hull piece and what appears to be yet another battery box that needs to be installed. I received a shipping notice today so I should see stage 31 in a couple of weeks. Finally!! The secret to how the extremely heavy saucer section safely mates to the cobra neck has now been resolved........ with plastic wedge shims to keep the docking clamps in the up position until you slide it forward to lock it into place! You can see two angles of those plastic shims in picture 1 and Picture 2. Stage 30 is complete and one final stage left. I will provide all my final comments in my last post and I will need to find a base and cover since Fanhome told me to pound sand on the premium base offer. GC

Can I ask, did you build straight out of the box, or do mods?

The D looks incredible! (y)
zero mods straight out of the box, warts and all. It’s no 17k Plus taxes plus shipping Factory Entertainment model. However, it’s mine. Thanks for the kind words. I made it…. So

Great news, because it looks awesome and I don't want to make mods.

Again well done.  (y)

She's looking really nice all lit up and shiny. Great work. Fanhome gave the same answer on the base to previous UK Eaglemoss subscribers but they had also hinted that once they had their online shop set up it might be available to purchase from there. We can only wait and see. Looking forward to your final thoughts on this build once it is fully completed (y)

We can only hope. I may have gone another way by the time they decide.

Well looking at YouTube in the final stage is a battery box cover once the last battery box is installed and wait for it. Water slide decals. Well I will need to break out my decals skills set from when I was like 12….. lol

This looks really impressive.I have built the DeLorean and I love it.I also have the Falcon but never built.

Looking online everybody states it's pretty straight forward for the saucer section top and underside. Also nobody has seen anybody with the premium base anywhere. I don't think it's been made yet and for what I am reading folks have been waiting up to four months for parts to resume depending here they are in a particular stage. TBH I will be glad when this is finished. They sent me a premium offer to start another project at a discount ... that's a solid NO from me at the moment. While I am glad they allowed me to finish...... and I am happy to have the Enterprise D in this scale.... the experience has left me bitter. GC

Yeah, I just got set #5 after four months of nothing. Supply chain,....I hope. Right after I got a notice there will be more delays. I have been talking with Sindy, yes with a S, and she is very sweet, but has no answers. As long as I get it in the end the delays are what they are. Gives me more time to build, save money, and so on. I am just worried it will get cancelled.
