E11- to Hengstler or not to Hengstler

Do most people put all the parts on an E-11 Blaster? Didn't some of them just have the scope? What is the consensus here? I am finishing up a PVC build.
Oddly, very few people recognize the E-11 for what it is.

I can scratch build one pretty easily or there are ebay ones pretty cheap.

I am not a fan of the Hengstler counter. It reminds me to much of teh toy Blaster and looks too bulky.

Either version is screen accurate, so it is personal preference.

I think people don't recognize it without the armored trooper attached to it.

I really don't mind either way but I think the scope you use with it makes a huge difference to the overall look of the blaster.

I'm not keen on the Hengstler with the M38 as I think it makes it look way too cluttered. However, if a M19 is used I think it looks better as it gives the impression of everything being 'tweak-able' and the shorter length of the scope reduces the amount of clutter.

When it comes to recognition without the guy in the plastic suit holding it, I think you'd be best off adding everything so counter, scope, cylinders etc. So if I were doing a 'typical' ANH E-11 I'd do it with a Hengstler and a M19.

Imho there is only 1 version that i "feel" as a E-11 Blaster - the one with the "full package": T-Tracks + M38 + Hengstler + Zylinder.

All the other are for just barely disguised Sterlings, for me.

I didn't when I built mine, but now I kind of wish I had. It looks cool. I just really didn't like the wires on that version though.

Me too, I like the full package. The counter adds another level or detail and looks more functional, in a clunky 70's low-tech way.

Personally, I prefer the M38 style scope to make it different from the ESB DL-44's which have the short M19s. I also like the Hengstler and cylinders to modify the Sterling as much as possible so it doesn't look like a plain gun.

Which version did not use the flat piece of metal for the scope mount, but used a solid bar on top instead?

That's the ROTJ E-11

Quick highjack - what are the MGC Sterlings going for these days?

I like the Hengstler. I added one to my Master Replicas Trooper gun.

I'm at the end of a E-11 build. I have the counter and still haven't decided to use it yet. Hey Luke didn't have the counter on his (while on the deathstar) and MR didn't use it. So I'm still up in the air about it.

A solid bar is only present on the ROTJ E-11 or maybe the -resin- ESB stunt. But keep in mind, that the ROTJ is not based on a L2A3, but a MGC sterling.

I'd add the hengstler - it makes it look less like a real world gun.

On another note, how are most people attaching their counters to the blaster? I have a resin counter that I attached with a rudimentary, home-made bracket. But I acquired a real counter (still looking for the sleeve) and was wondering the best way to attach it to the blaster.
