Dukes of Hazzard General Lee

Don't know what you think but If I had found this car I would have keep it the way it was. First because no one need one more GL replica and then, because it's a piece of art (in some way). If I had an original Hoverboard from BTTF or an piece of a Star Wars set, I would not restore them. The dents, scrates, etc, are what make them real. Not just a painted piece of wood like everyone can get/build one.

Well, Lee 1 went up on the auction block today and sold for a mere $110,000.

In the car world, there's apparently been a lot of talk about this "disappointing" result, and I've seen comments on more than one article point to this thread to explain the low figure:

CGLFC • View topic - Lee 1 Updated-Read FIRST POST AGAIN **NEW CONTRADICTIONS**

Potential bidders for such an expensive item undoubtedly did their research, and most stayed far away from this butchered shadow of its former self. Personally, I think the guy who bought the original roof for $5,000 has a much nicer item than the guy who paid $110,000 for the "restored" full car...

Wow!

Whole lot of dirt on that replica! :lol

the golfer BUBBA WATSON is the guy who purchased the car.

First off, I don't follow golf - so I had no idea who that was...

However, when I Googled "BUBBA WATSON" I expected to see one thing was very surprised...

...I mean....with a name like Bubba...come on....that guy doesn't look remotely close to a 'Bubba' more like a 'Charles' or a 'Christopher'.

LOL.

:lol That's probably the joke! :lol
