Duke Nukem Forever Demo Released

I've been playing the full game when I've been bored. It's really bad. I did find this in the dream sequence though-

Cute

I played the demo today.

It's horrible, this is a game I wouldn't spend $20 on, so much like Halo 3, Halo Wars, Fallout 3, and SoulCaliber 4, I'll be waiting until I can get a copy for $8 if I even buy it then.

I've noticed it's very popular with people from ages 12-14, though they've never played Any of the others.

Most of my friend's friend's on Xbox Live are around that age and whenever I end up in Party Chat with them, they go on about how funny and great the game is.

I loved Duke back in the day. Played the demo and it was so horrible...I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for the full game.

I went to redbox the other day and noticed you can rent it there for 2.50 per day. So if anyone really wants to invest time into this game, that may be the best option if you have a day to blow through this thing. I'm passing for now, personally.

I am struggling to get through this game right now. The story is terrible, the graphics were top of the line like 8 years ago, the controls are clunky. This game should have never been released. I really wanted to like this game.

Prince NEO is right, if you are between the ages of 12-14 and you've been smacked in the head with a club, you'll love this game.

I think people are giving this game a raw deal. It's Duke Nukem. Did you expect a sophisticated story line? This is from the series where you tip pole dancers and a hidden easter egg was to turn on a porno movie. The game play wasn't really innovative in previous versions either. The graphics currently are passable, but sure they aren't next generation, and they never promised they'd be next generation. It's an amusing call back to the Duke Nukems I played as a kid, and while I probably won't replay it, it was still fun to play through once (though I hated the second Octoking battle).

I can definitely see where you are coming from. I wasn't expecting high-brow game play. I guess I expected more after such a long time. This might seem a little funny to say about a Duke Nukem game but it just didn't feel polished. I didn't feel like they really contributed to the Duke Nukem name. With that being said, the old adage of wanting something is better than having something is definitely true of Duke Nukem Forever.

I agree with both of you, I didn't even expect a story line, I just expected it to at least be as fun to play as Duke Nukem 3D or Time to Kill, but it's hard to play, as stated before, the controls are clunky at best, the whole game seems like a beta to me, it seems like they should have taken a little while longer to make it, the graphics go from good to acceptable to horrible and everywhere in between, and the gameplay seems to change, like the beginning (Before you find out you're playing as Duke playing a game.), it seemed like it was good, and then you get to the real game and it's hard to control Duke and use the weapons.

I expected better jokes, or at least funnier ones, and more things that made fun of other video games, as well as things like abilities to blow through things the 'Duke' way, like mentioned before.

I can deal with the graphics problem, if it weren't for the fact that it looks like they were trying to do it on purpose; When you get the the part where you are driving the truck thing, and you get out, if you look, anywhere you aren't pointing your gun is super super fuzzy and blurry.

LMAO :lol

Seriously, this game should have been pushed out when it originally was intended to with the graphics quality....or else they should have pushed it another few years out to upgrade the graphics using today's technology.

I wasn't expecting a game of the year award on this but it's not even fun like the old games were

I agree, I've been tossing around the idea of renting it from redbox to beat it, but I don't think I could stand to play through the entire game.

I'll get it when it's dirt cheap used on amazon. I'm currently waiting for that to happen with a few games and movies. No point paying full price anymore.

Damn straight. Although even full price on Amazon is cheaper than elsewhere. Steam will also undoubtedly have some super-cheap special on this. Figure that if it took 3-4 months for Medal of Honor to drop to sale prices of about $15, this one should take a similar trajectory.

Amazon and walmart seem to run even but walmart's such a hassle to get to anymore around here as the nearest one is remodeling so nothing is on the shelves. i do walmart because i can get a discount if my folks buy it for me as a gift so i usually wait for my bday and get a few cheap games at once lol
