So keeping with my theme as of late... The 3D armor is next....

Here's where I am so far.

I started by drawing out my patterns (about 3" tall)

Took em to kinkos and enlarged them a little...

Glued them to some 1/4" MDF and cut out the pieces

The breast plate was a bit too large for my Badge so I chopped it down a touch.

The right is covered in plastidip (next one will be sprayed with it rather than brushed) the left is raw.

The collar is really tricky... best way is to manually sew :)
I'm also making my own fully functional Dredd vest and will upload after taking pics...

I'm following your thread... I used screw post to combine with the vest... how will you do yours?

Here it is right now, still need to cover the collar with leather and strap it all up. I'll post good pictures when it's all ready. :)

As I said on Facebook under Andrew Harness and here as dollstix....really good work brother!!!
Block War at Rowdy Yates .... go get 'em :)

Nice!!! and Nice pick on the collar, I used that too and I think it really looks great squared off! Post pics of how you plan to do the ribbing, I couldn't figure anything out and just sewed lines in.

I am working on my own costume , using a leather steering wheel cover and length of cable tidy pipe for the collar , there is enough material in the cover and pipe to make two.

Measure your neck as to where you want the collar to sit that's your length. , cut the wheel cover in half and remove the inner lining , leaving the stitched edge , this is the attachment point to the pipe , measure the pipe circumference and cut a piece of foam to cover half the pipe , affix with PVA glue or Latex (Copydex) let dry . use a heat gun and warm the pipe , bend to required shape and let cool . You now have half the pipe covered in foam . Align the two edges and glue or latex the cover onto the edges and body of pipe , use elastic bands or try string all around the pipe to hold the leather in place allow to dry , now trim and sew or glue the ends together , you have now completed your collar , affix with tabs to vest.

Damn... that's a dead on match.
Nice work.

I'll take that over black spandex yoga suit any day.

Looks really good, I'm sure if you were to offer the vest complete there would be plenty of takers! Nice work ;)

Funny Mr Pinski, stop putting up screenshots and put up your real photo.....Seriously though, that is fantastic! And you make that Judge!
