Dredd 2012 project

This is my take on DREDD. I like to refer to this as my "kitchen sink" as in it has every type of material and method incorporated.


The vest itself is made from fabric, with an athletic mesh bag I found to match perfect with the film. The armor plates are EVA foam with craft foam for detail, then wonderflex laid on top to make it rigid. The helmet is pepakura based fiberglass. The shoulder eagle is EVA foam, mesh, then part of a garbage can for the curved piece. Craft foam layered then scored with a wood burning tool completes it.


Ammo pouches scratch built from leather. The magazines are repurposed airsoft reloaders.


First Aid Kit scratch built from leather.


Zip Cuffs from large sized zip ties.


Gas Grenade from pvc pipe and inert grenade top. Door Breacher from simple wood cabinet piece. The red button I added to give it a unique look.


Gloves are cheap riders from walmart, but they look pretty damn close. The gauntlets I sewed from faux leather.


LAWGIVER, made from an airsoft glock. The housing is presentation board with craft foam for detail. The specialty ammo are wood dowel pieces painted.

Great budget build with lots of creative innovation. Best of all, while I dodder along at a plodding pace with my gear, you have a very wearable costume right the heck now! By the time I finish(yes it will look great when done) I may be too old to wear it!:darnkids

I used presentation board for the main part of the body, then detailed parts made of craft foam on top. The pistol is an airsoft glock springer Amazon.com: CYMA Airsoft Spring Gun Pistol ZM17: Sports & Outdoors
