So, here’s something I’ve been working on in my off-time from my other projects!:love:thumbsup
I’m really excited how it’s turning out, since this is a prop I’ve wanted ever since the movie came out, which has been a while now.
I didn’t realize the amount of detail that was involved in the amulet until I started carving this thing, but it’s an amazing, beautiful piece of art in its own right, which makes you really appreciate the design process that goes into making movie props even more.
I've still got a ways to go on this piece, since I still have to tweek out a lot of the details on the upper portion and have to finish carving the bottom portion as well. I’m almost done, and will then start on the Dragon Tooth.

These should be made available some time early 2012!:cool:thumbsup

Beautiful work so far! I have a handful of those crystals somewhere in various colors. I am definitely in if/when you Junkyard this.

Are planning on making a mold and a cast? If so I would like to see if you can cast the crystal with either a 3mm or 5mm clear white LED in it so you can make it glow.

Or...make a mold of the claw and crystal together with an LED cast into it with wires coming out so one could attach a power source to make it glow.

I don't plan on making it light up, since this is more trouble than it is worth for me.:unsure

I'm also having a pewter company mold and cast this for me due to the complexity of the prong setting on the amulet.

I've worn many a pewter pendant, and they hold up just fine. Some fine detail wears down a little teensy bit with a LOT of wear, but considering these will be plated with a hard (brass?copper?) shell, and be gripping a natural crystal, they'll last a lifetime more or less.

My two cents.

Once they are available the trick will be figuring out how to light one. I already have an idea..............................

I can't tell you how happy I was when I read that you were making a replica of the dragonslayer amulet. I have been hunting for one since I first saw the movie. I am very excited and thankful. :thumbsup

Absolutely awesome!! I was thinking about doing these myself, but living in such a small town, my resources never panned out. I'm definitely in when it's ready. :) AWESOME! :thumbsup
