I'll be there. I'm still very new to this forum and don't know anyone yet, but I'd love the chance to meet some of you. Been working on a Han Solo costume. Got my boots in yesterday, perfect fit.

94 day away… Can't wait…..lol .. how a bout you MatrixSpoon:p:lol

Yeah, i can't wait either, everyone at work keeps asking about how my costumes are coming along as well as my family...I can't believe it's almost here, feels like it just happend only a few months ago, guess thats cause i've been working on my costumes so much...i guess that's, the only good thing about being single, is you have no love life, so you can work on projects and cosplays and have no life, though it would be more fun doing it with someone, else...jealous of the cosplay couples...::tear::::

I'll be going this year as well. Our group is doing an X-men cosplay group as well. I'll be rocking a classical Sentinel look. Keep an eye for us!

AJ, which Han costume are you putting together? My ESB won't be done in time for DCon, but probably next year.

I'm primarily working on Mal Reynolds right now, as I need that costume both for the con and a very important event less than a month later. My nuTrek costume just needs new pants and the Guybrush Threepwood costume is fairly easy, with the exception of a lot of hand stitching on the coat. The Mal costume is the one I'm fairly concerned about. I've also got my pesky fourth Doctor coat that I need to finish so I can get it off the form and start working on the Guybrush coat.

My pinup Wonder Woman is doing pretty well. I just got a breastplate piece before Alabama Phoenix Festival. I'm still trying to sort out the attachments for that. It popped off a couple of times during APF. I'm still sorting out the tentacles for my steampunk Ursula and I haven't even started my third costume yet.

ESB Bespin. Got just about everything now except the cloth pieces. Ordered them from Magnoli and expect them in about a month. I considered Mal...such an awesome character. Maybe next year. While I wait for the Han Solo cloth pieces to get in I'm thinking of putting together a John Crichton/peacekeeper from Farscape. Found a place that was selling a coat and vest online pretty cheap. Hope they look decent.

This is all new to me, but I've found it's addictive...hunting down various pieces, researching the different parts. Deciding what to make myself and what to source from other makers. For Stars wars at least there's so many people who get really into it that it's fun to find people who've taken on the task of building one small detail really well. Just last week I bought a belt cylinder from a guy here in the Junkyard. Looks like he did really nice work in the pictures. I can't wait to get it in person.

The hard part is going to be resisting buying a 3d printer. I'm actually trained as a 3d modeller and make my living doing it, so I know that getting my hands on a printer would open a whole new world of possibilities (not to mention potentially turn me into even more of a hermit than I already am, just staying home and making toys). I think I'm going to let others test drive different ones for a while before I commit to one though.

Got to work on Peggy Carter (Captain America) over the weekend, got the skirt nearly finished and a mock-up of the jacket started.
I started Johanna Mason (Catching Fire) earlier in the year and need to pick it up again.
Still trying to get the rest of my fabric for Anne Boleyn in before I start it; if my fabric store can't get the remaining yards in I'll have to return what I have and go with something else.
I have my fabric for Donna Noble (Doctor Who: Unicorn and the Wasp) but that's about it.
Got one more project that I'm waiting to see if it's doable before I go any further....

What's up guys. I'm pretty new to the forum but happy to see a DCon thread for 2014 is up and running. I went last year for the first time and have looked forward to it since the day I left. Many YouTube videos and a trip to Wizard World in New Orleans tried to fill the void but there is just nothing like i. I'm meeting up with some friends from back home and we are doing a Spiderman group cosplay with a little twist. I know I'm pretty new as this is actually my first post but hope to maybe run into some of you and see some of this awesome cosplay that RPF represents.
