Ha! Me too. This will be my first trip to DCon, and I have a feeling my head will swivel off it's axis from seeing all the amazing costumes. I just hope I can finish mine in time :rolleyes

Well I can tell you this...your feeling is right...and you WILL be over welmed, you will get lost ( thats part of the fun)...and all of us are in the same boat, hoping to finish our costumes in time...

ALSO...best advise is to arrive on Thursday and get your badge, then...you will have a 5min-2hr wait on thurs depending on the time you get there, last year it took me and hour and a half, to get mine...

me and my buddies are driving up thursday from the Panhandle . is it better to try to get our badges thursday afternoon or evening?

i would say the sooner the better...so i would say afternoon....when i was in line i heard some people say it took them only 10 min to get there badges, and they were in line with there friends to get there badges....we got there about 6pm...and waited and hour and a half...the line literally was in the parking lot, then went from the parking lot around the entire block, then into the Sheraton then into a centipede line, then you got your badge...

I agree. We are flying in from San Francisco and should be to our hotel by 5:30pm. Hopefully the line won't be too nuts by then, but I'm no stranger to long badge lines.

Hey folks! Hope everyone is chuggin along on costumes - just wanted to say I havent died of costume building fatigue yet. Looks like I will be hitting the ground in ATL around 10 after 1 in the afternoon. Probably make it to the hotels within 45 minutes after that I imagine. Our room keeper however wont get to us til around 3ish so I will be lounging around the hilton lobby for a bit while we wait for him so we can dump our massive piles of luggage in the room lol. So dependent upon that will determine how soon we get into badge line. Hopefully badge pickup won't interfere with my ability to get to the meet up

does anyone know if the shuttles from other hotels be going on thursday? We're staying at the Melia (all that was available when we tried to book) so wasnt sure the best way to get over to get our badges once we get into town and check in.

Hey everyone! I'm new to this thread and RPF in general. Looks like this thread has died out a bit, but I thought I'd post in it.

I got a room at the Marriot at the beginning of June, for an EXTREMELY high price. The funny thing is I live less than 5 miles from the Marriott, but not staying the night at the con was a horrible experience and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Any who, I joined this site for the making of my Dragon*Con costumes. Mainly for my Samus Varia Suit (Other M style). I think I'm being overly ambitious with this one, but we'll see how it goes. Also, I'll probably be a zombie at some point and I'm making a post-apocalyptic Harley Quinn, with my friend going as Joker.

70 days and counting!

Just and FYI to everyone, I just ordered 75 Horizontal badge sleeves and clips...Hopefully that's enough...

And if you are going to be Gambit, you have to meet up with me so my wife can get a picture with you. Gambit is her favorite.
