Doopy Doos E-11 blaster kit.

Hi all. If you are interested here is a link to my build thread for my stormtrooper costume, and it includes a section at the end with my Doopys E-11 build. I have since added a counter, similar to anfa, except I used actual counter dial from a couple of attendance counters I bougth (the little clicker things you use to count the number of people attending an event).

The product is good, but dealing with DoopyDoos really sucks. I had an order in for like 4 months, found out I was moving out of state, and couldn't get in touch with them. Got my money back from PayPal. If you buy a E-11 kit from Trooperbay, its a Doopydoos, but you'll actually get it in a few days.

Here's my build, has plenty of pics:

sorry for this very "new to resin" question....
-what is the best tool for drilling and shaping resin parts? regular drill or perhaps a dremel? Looking at the counter mod you made I realized the drill I have may be too large or powerful for some of the more delicate parts of this build. thanks!

Dremel and their cheap alternatives are the best to use for resin. I've found using a drill is too heavy for even the large holes required. It has a habit of going too deep too fast because of the drill shafts design and usually wants to break the resin.

Doopy's kit is great and even if they don't reply to your emails/messages they ship their stuff

LOL! Was just going through the forum to search or reference
of members who've built this kit & I saw this message!

Having the same communication issue (just purchased a copy)
... well as long as they send it then its ok I guess- LOL

This is genius!!
Awaiting for my copy to arrive...
Glad I found this forum!!

It is a great kit especially value for money, you can get one in a week or it can take 4 weeks, depending on stock and production turn around. A few days ago they had 6 in stock. Even if you simply glue it together without any mods, it's still a good looking kit. Here'a a few photos with only a few screw mods and some simple rub and buff weathering.

Holee......... mother of e-11 blaster loveliness....
This is gorgeous!!!
Was thinking of just painting it Matte Black when my kit arrives,
After seeing these pics... changed my mind (faints)

Question Rogue Trooper:
1) Just to be slightly specific, I'm sure you can use any super glue to affix parts,
but what type of glue/adhesive in particular did you use for this kit?

2) Did you build the display base? If yes, what material did you use? Perplexed glass/ PVC glass?
Are those text stickers?

I don't use super glue I find it's not as strong. I use 2 part epoxy glue. The stands are laser cut from 6mm clear acrylic sheet. The laser gives the edges a nice shine. I used to use reverse printed clear decals that were mounted on the inside of the acrylic, but now I use laser engraved plaques as below.

I don't buy DD kits anymore, I make my own, but they always deliver, sometimes it can take a few weeks though.

Thank you for sharing the infos, Rogue Trooper.

The stand with plaque looks awesome!!

Am quite new in the props department so I have A LOT to learn & catch up! :D

If anyone is interested or looking, Doopydoos is offering them back up on their website....I ordered one(despite my namesake lol), so now to play the waiting game.

ANFA

This is sooo excellent! Can I ask you about your weathering technique.... specifically around the scope. I've been model making for years (gundams mostly). But I am
fascinated with how you did the area of brass around the rim of the scope. I have my ideas but would love a quick rundown.
