Does anyone produce a PVC stormtrooper blaster kit?

I've been doing some research into E-11 blasters. I'd really like to get my hands on one.

I love the quality finish of the MR blasters and could stretch to the cost, however all the ones I've seen for sale are in the US and being in the UK I don't fancy taking my chances getting one through customs.

I've seen some nice Resin blaster kits, but my head has been turned by a few of the PVC versions people have been making. I particularly like the way the folding stock is functional, which seems not to be the case with some resin kits (I could be wrong).

These all seem to be home made, with hours spent painstakingly sourcing materials etc.

Does anyone produce a PVC kit for the E-11?

Any other information on sources for E-11s would be helpful too.

Cheers

There is a guy in my local garrison that makes the kits. It doesn't have a functional stock though. If you are still interested, let me know and I can get you his information.

Thanks sounds good. Do you want me PM you for his details?

The beauty of a PVC kit is I could modify it to create a functioning stock.

Cheers.

PVC stormtrooper blasters are usually either complete scratch-builts, or mostly scratch-builds with resin details.
Many people on this board has sold resin blaster parts. I know Jim Egner in Texas used to sell many blaster parts.

The best place to get info about PVC stormtrooper blasters is The Blaster Builder's Club. There you will also find tutorials and templates.

Yep, that's what I thought. I was hoping I might be able to save myself a bit of time. I don't want to reinvent the wheel, if someone has already done the hard work, why not pay them to replicate it, was my hope. I'll check those links out, thank you.

I've been looking at their resin stuff and it looks pretty good. I was hoping to buy a basic PVC kit and then modifying it with any other good bits I can find from resin kits.

If you can use a drill, a dremel, and some tin snips and you can make everything yourself. The templates at the BBC will help you.

I make them but never really thought about a kit. Hmmm Have someone cut everything out and drill all holes and you just put together. Great idea.
I know mine is not accurate, but it troopes great. It only weighs 2 lbs. It's made with a pvc barrel, wood handle, styrene mag and clip, alot of cutout alumnium for all of the other parts. All total about 100 different pieces. If I drop it, I don't have to worry about it breaking to pieces like the resin ones. Oh, and the stock folds out.

I'm more of a replica prop collector, rather than maker.

Seriously though. I've made some props for my short film projects, but I rely heavily on modified found objects.

If I built a E-11 from scratch it would always look (to me) very home made. I'd start off with good intentions, but eventually run out of patience and start cutting corners.

When it comes to replicating my favourite props, I prefer to buy from people with much more talent than myself. People who care about the details that I will only notice weeks later and go "Wow, they even made sure this bit was exactly the right size... coool".

Oh yes!

That's what I'm looking for. Very cool!

The kit thing is mainly just to get it into the UK.

Are you interested in suppling a kit?

Just so you know you're not alone, I agree. :) I have some skills, but there are those folks here who pass me like I'm standing still, and if they've done all the heavy lifting already (like John of Alter Egos, say) I'm happy to send some money over and do the best I can putting frosting on their tasty cakes.

Ditto!

I'm gonna be placing me an order for one of his kits very soon.I'm in the same boat as you guys about building, though I've done alright with Proton Packs from Ghostbusters.

Thanks, I've bookmarked the link.

I've had some good response to the thread (it's especially good to know I'm not alone in my skill level) and so can feel more comfortable with my novice questions.

The thing about this forum is it inspires!

I've been researching and it turns out real Sterlings are actually easy to get hold of the replica E-11's in the UK.

Though I'm not sure my wife would be to happy about have a real gun (even if it is de-activated) in the house and would prefer me to have a PVC 'toy' replica. So I'm still leaning that way.

Thinking of perhaps a combination using the best parts from the resources I can get my hands on, obviously matching scale and size would be an issue.

I can supply you with a kit. I have one from Chrima that I have had sitting around for ages. It has the PVC stock all drilled and the resin parts are all included. The only thing that I DONT have for it is the folding stock. I think that could be made fairly easily, and I do have one to go by. I also have the blueprints for the folding stocks but I have never made one before. If you'd like the kit that I have, just let me know. I think there is someone in the UK who is finding the real folding stocks in surplus as well. If anyone can get you a folding stock, I have everything else in the kit that you would need.
