Does anyone have any info about chrome plating rubber?

I remember when the ROTS making of films popped up, one of the prop guys was talking about chrome plated rubber stunt sabers.

Does anyone know how this is done or where this is done?

C3P0 costumes utilise rubber shorts frequently chrome plated. I think they may be done in exactly the same way as a solid object. try here for more info - http://com1.runboard.com/bc3pobuilders
