Doctor Who: Time Agent's Vortex Manipulator *SPOILER*

Don't the face-plate AND buttons in stainless steel fit nicely without sanding down one or the other? I thought because its same material shrinkage would be same so they would fit perfectly.

What about stainless steel faceplate and black buttons (prefer stainless steel buttons tho painted black to match-cool to touch)

Now off to the Leatherworker. Will work on the button fit and electronics when it comes back.

Found a bass pipe screen and after a little cutting fits almost perfectly.

I'll repeat here what I already said in PM, the stainless steel face plate is impossible to clean up to look decent. It was a cool idea that failed in execution. The only material that sands and paints well and holds good detail is the black detail. WSF, alumide, and steel all have a horrible surface finish that can't be fixed, and WSF can't be painted easily.

Also, there might be something really cool in the works right now regarding the strap. I'll update again when i have some more info.

Just to update every1.

The stainless steels feels amazing. cool to touch like ud expect the face plate to be
the stainless steel buttons also feel great but buttons and face plate do not fit despite same material.

why I don't know. really annoying. sanding has to be done nw on buttons to make them fit. they r not cheap to buy either.

That's just what shapeways-quality 3D printing gets you. Zenix was never responsive about the buttons not fitting, either. I think he changed the size once and after they still didn't fit he couldn't be bothered. That's why I'm working on something better now.

To be honest, after about 5 years in this hobby I've probably wasted more money getting things right than I've spent on the final good versions of things. It's just part of the process. I did warn you, though.

ano :( i got them sanded down now tho my mate done them on this big sander thingy thankfully. i will take pics soon of finished thing. got someone doing leather wrk and electrics for me.

Also got a lovely metal river screwdriver being made which im sooo excited fr.

Too bad they could actually redesign it and turn out a cool deluxe product with real leather or at the very least a watch that wasn't incredibly bulky like the toy. Then again, that's most likely just a photoshop of the original product photo. Maybe the real thing will look much nicer.
