Doctor Who - Exploding TARDIS on canvas WIP questions.

I thought this warranted it's own thread since it seems like a few of us are trying to do the same thing. I purchased the Exploding TARDIS / Blue box exploding print from Forbidden Planet UK, and am planning to have it printed on canvas. I have to make a few decisions, and I thought I would put it up, and see what the group thinks.

I was thinking of having it just scanned first, a local graphics house will charge me $35.00 for a high res scan of the print. This way I can do any changes if necessary before printing it on canvas. Once on canvas, I will do a brush stoke effect with Modge Podge following the original strokes.

So here are my questions;

1. What dimensions do you think it should be. How wide does it look in the screenshots?

2. Should I retouch the print to have the raw edge?

3. Framed or unframed?

4. I was thinking of adding his signature.

What do you think?????? :confused :confused :confused

I'mobsessed with this painting. For years I have been trying to figure out how to get a high resolution version of the Exploding Tardis! I also want to get it printed on canvas and gallery wrapped to mount on my living room wall over my sofa. I really need it to be high res because I want to make it huge (36"X48")

Did you ever end up getting it scanned at the print shop? Is there any chance you would be willing to share a pdf of your exploding tardis scan?

Thanks!

Try Googling it.
Seems everyone is selling prints.

If you can't get it on canvas then get a poster, there are lots of places that laminate posters onto canvas.

Or try your hand at painting it.

Most places I know wont scan a commercial product because of trademark violations, I'm suprised your local place will

They have to recognize what it is in order to realize the violating anything. Dr Who is very niche over hear. It wouldn't surprise me if 9/10 places you took it had no clue what it was.
