Was waiting for this thread to pop up.

How'd you go about making that top piece?

I made it out of a cut up Radox shower gel bottle, wood and P38.

It wasn't difficult, just time consuming. Annoyingly once I finished it and placed it on the phone I'd made it too narrow :unsure Rather than start again I spliced it down the centre, inserted a piece of expansion plastic, filled and sanded it down

With a bit more fine sanding It'll be perfect.

Finished that top box 'thing' nicely, then walked over the road to the telephone exchange junction box and found lots of pieces of the right coloured wired just laying on the pavement. Happy those engineers didn't clean up after themselves

Indeed you do That said I wish I'd never started mine. It's the only prop I've ever made that I've not enjoyed making !

You're kind, but they are mediocre at best. It's not difficult to build, I just found it very time consuming, fiddly and in the end quite unimpressive as a prop. I'm sure yours will turn out much better. I've kinda lost interest in this one, so I'll like to get it finished this morning and out of the way. I really liked the look of it as seen in the concept artwork, so that's the one I went for.
