Doctor Who - 1960s TARDIS Console build

I'm very very impressed!

As has been said above, I have watched this build in another place on the net, but seeing this shorter post brings the scale of the whole operation sharply into view.

Gargantuan! - I can only imagine, with envy, how you will feel when you complete this venture.

I look forward to your continuing adventures.

Thanks folks.

Another update - more work to "Panel 1" and the central column.

Here's a close-up of a slightly earlier version of the original Panel 1:

And my copy - so far:

Lots to do still - but getting there.

Neil Gaiman was lamenting the fact that there weren't any old console rooms still intact when he was writing The Doctor's Wife (inferring that he would have liked to have used a really old one in his script). Live Q & A: Neil Gaiman | Television & radio | guardian.co.uk
Shame the producers didn't know about the RPF! Would it be worthwhile letting Moffat know that there are fans out there with perfect reproductions of the old series material? Would anyone actually be willing to offer their creations up for screen time if an offer went out for it (or do you think the BBC would either seize your props or no return them?)

Bravo. Spot on work so far. Even though it's not my era of Dr. Who ( I'm more of a Tom Baker/ Davidson Era console Room fan myself), I have immense respect for your efforts. Please keep it going!

Like everyone else...I say impressive work. I'm loving reading this thread.

So....where are you storing this? Garage? Basement? Or do you have a workshop that you use?

Chris,

Your build is AWESOME..Its been a while since I have seen the progress. All I can say is wow, I want to see it in person one day. Great work.

Haven't updated this thread for some time - there's been a fair bit of progress.

Still plenty to do, though.
