Doc's foam/fiberglass work + Mark 42 painted pieces

Re: Doc's foam work and now Styrene

Incredible! Nice work

Thanks peruski

this has totally made my day.. I actually think (sorry guys) these are (sorry guys!) the BEST (SORRY) IM gloves I've ever seen. did you use styrene for the whole glove or just the tops of the fingers?

Lol glad I made your day cuz yr comment made mine:D I used styrene just fir the tops everything else is foam.
HOLY CRAP MAN!!!

You just keep setting the bar! Just when i thought i was getting close to yours, you step it up like that. Outstanding work, those even look better then the printed ones zabana has, in my opinion.

Lol and thanks for your compliment, glad to help motivate ya to keep improving.

Re: Doc's foam work and now Styrene...gloves improved

Wow! That's looks amazing!!!! (Pretty sure that's the only thing I've ever said throughout this thread). I've been reading too many Iron Man threads lately and can't remember the whole story on the gloves. Were these modified from Zabana's files or did you make the entire glove from scratch? I know from a few pages back, it looks like at least the palm is all new.

Re: Doc's foam work and now Styrene...gloves improved

Thanks everyone and yes everything is scratch built drawn and cut but I used in the beginning zabanas so I had a good feel for them so I couldnt if done it without his awesome files, And heres a comparison pic, pretty dang close if I say so myself:D

hi Doc, thankyou so much for sharing this thread... can I ask? now that it is 7 months since you started this thread, how has the rondo method held up over this time... are they still looking as good as the first day? still strong? are cracks appearing? if so are they only minimal? thankyou again

Hey all!

Great work Doc! You never cease to inspire!

Working on my MK 4 2.0 suit. Got the BET on and moving toward the paint stage. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the flash time for the Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter is? The label says to wait 2-3 minutes between coats and when I search the internet, I get anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes for a flash-time.

Doc, or anyone else, if you know what the flash time is, let me know. I have to start painting in the morning if I'm going to be done by this Friday evening. Thanks in advance!

Lol then ya mustve missed that part, its ok I dont useit just cuz Its too time consuming and I dont have a place to do it at. Before I would do it in my garage or outside n thats smell lingers n I have lil ones to think about and its always windy here I would get crap on it. So no more rondo till I build a shop or somthin.

Doc, As far as detail on your chest piece.....some joints look seamlessly s while others look like you've soldered lines. Are you soldering or using caulk? It would be awesome if you had a YouTube video showing how you put a couple pieces together
