Update...the second coat dried a darker red, not pink. But very matte, no metallic...
Any updates on the write-up for the faceplate? Trying to get my suit finished up and would love to have a removable faceplate in time for Halloween.
Here's a pic of what I have so far. Helmet was done with 6mm "Foamies".

Thanks for the update on the glovesdo what u can to ship by Friday. I need as much time to figure out the gloves as possible. Working all weekend on my girlfriends costume.
I'll lay down one or two more coats of red tonite and clear and see how it looks. Hopefully it turns out. I just don't see the metallic like in your photos. Maybe the clear will bring it out. Fingers crossed.

is there a certain duplicolor type of spray paint we should use? enamel or lacquer or some other off the wall type of paint??
is the general consensus metallic red, hot rod red, cherry red? and sunburst gold?

Hey, thanks again for the great idea. I did a couple test with a layer of thin cardboard and with a layer of cardstock and they both work great. I did however prefer the card stock, it does seem a little bit harder when it dries. Took a pic for reference.true,
That's why you back the foam with thin cardboard like I did first. it's really solid after a layer of fiberglass mat/cloth.

is this the upcoming method for foam faceplate rigidity? cardstock/paper, resin, fiberglass on top of foam?
also, do you have a recommendation for the color silver/aluminum for parts of the mkvii like the shoulders of the back, and front of the shins? thanks

Doc, amazing work. What do you use to seal it? I'm assuming PVA but is there a specific brand/type you prefer over another? Also if you don't mind me asking, how are you going to solve the issue of not having an exposed under suit? Like the bends in the elbows, back of the knee's, etc?
