So, while a lot of SoCal Star Wars nerds were preparing for, marching in, and watching parades, I was busy finishing some outstanding painting projects. Notably, my newly acquired ROTJ DL-44 and my Hasbro "red version" blaster.

The ROTJ is on the left, the Hasbro on the right. In case you couldn't tell. Below is an SFProps aluminum droid caller I finished last week and my Cexports ROTJ tool kit.

Comments are always welcome. Keep in mind this is like my second time building or painting anything like this. And my first time ever doing dry brush weathering. I am particularly happy with the weathering on the Hasbro since I paid 5 bucks for it and now it looks like I paid at least 10.

To ask some advice: anyone have a good technique or set of steps to do the "scorching" on the muzzle of the ROTJ. With the holster weathering, the muzzle just looks too clean now. But I am not sure how to dirty it up.

Thanks.

I would suggest mixing up some paints with different shades of bronze, brown, and silver then dry brushing it on the muzzle in layers. Even though you did do a good job on the dry brushing it stills too "new". Try maybe using a cloth or brush and "grey" some areas.

Actually, it's an Irish Jedi caller kit. I just supplied a few of the detail pieces. :)

Thanks for the advice. I do think I got a lot of washing to do to get the look more worn.

Ahh...good to know. I just went off the name on the instruction sheet.
