DIY Cooling Suit Discussion

Hey guys,

With some of the bigger armor suits and thicker material costumes I've been working on, I've started to consider some sort of cooling system that I can wear underneath to help with the heat. I wanted to start a discussion here to get some input from the community on what they think might work best for this. There are some commercially available systems, like the 2cool shirts, but they can get pricey, and as far as I can tell, they do not include a pump or tank system. Here are some thoughts I've had so far along with some research I've done:

Shirt
Some sort of UnderArmor or other wicking type material that will help with sweat absorption. I like the way they did it in the Race Car suit below where they sewed vertical sleeves onto the the shirt, and then wove the tubing in and out of it along the front and back.

Tubing
Not sure on this one yet. Will need to be some sort of flexible tubing, but I'm also concerned about it getting kinked up when I'm moving. I was thinking of some medical tubing, but I think I might need something with a thicker/stiffer wall.

Cooler/Heat Sink
Ideally, this would be something that I could keep on me in either a back back or bladder or side pouch form. My first thought was to use a thermos (possibly more than one). I could either rig up a backpack harness or some sort of leg holster.

Pump
This one I'm a little lost on at the moment. It will have to be something that can be battery operated. I like Adam's idea of using the Lithium Ion drill batteries to power something. My first guess is some sort of fish tank pump.
