Like many of MR products... they need taken apart and or the paint stripped off so they can be done properly...this was no exception. ive put this up here incase anyone else was thinking about doing this so i hope it helps.
since i was going to strip off the joke that was the paintjob i decided to take the spear tips off too.
firstly there is no way you can pull them out, as you can see from the pic they are well glued in and dont go down very far.
i dremeled the shafts which left me these stumps, i poured some acetone onto the glued parts and left it to soften. 10 mins later i was able to scrap the glue out.
got it all cleaned up and drilled 10mm holes where the red circles are. this is as far as i have got at the min. i could not believe it but the spear is actually hollow:eek. it weighs a ****ing tonne
gotta think what kind of tubing i want or even wooden dowels might be an option to have the spear fully opened.:unsure
