Display cases for your props

Yesterday i got a LACK bookshelf to display my props, its nice, but in my room it's kind of dark so i'm going to get some lights to put in it. I got it at IKEA and its very tall and wide, PLENTY of room for props :) sadly not quite wide enough for my MR ROTS Anakin saber, but i can fit about everything else in it.

Actual retail store display cases can be gotten off craigslist for relatively cheap. That is where I got mine. It is 6' x 4' by 20". Paid $250 for it. Here is a total crap pic of it:

My wife bought 3 of these for me the day after Thanks Giving at Micheal's, for a huge discount, I think they were around $12. They are the nicest I have ever seen in a brick and mortar store.

i've got 7 ikea detolf cabinets, all lighted and wired together on a single switch. makes for a nice "museum like" display. basically the walls are just lined with them on 2 sides of the room.

kinpo23, check out this site cheech9898 posted.. In my opinion the easiest and cheap way to build display cases for mannequins yourself

I was looking at that site, but I remembered seeing some members have theirs enclosed in plexiglass so wondered if there was anything else out there. You are right though, best way to do it is to build my own. Thanks.

Rob

Having complete enclosed display cases (like the ones just made out of plexiglass) might be a bit risky on the preservational standpoint.. You may have to face the danger of the costumes and mannequin migrating gas over time which can't get out of the case damaging the fabrics..
