Disney Park's FX Lightsabers with removable blades.

The Vader looks incredible.

The saber is based off R1 but the R1 saber for some odd reason was based off the current condition of the original ESB/ROTJ hero(as seen in this thread.) The screws were not on the saber during filming of the two. But its nice and refreshing to see a brand new vader fx hilt instead of the recycled ANH hilt MR originally released in 2007.

How is the sound? Still the cheap ultimate fx board?

This vader has the accurate grip length and placement RIGHT in which MR/Hasbro got wrong. Visually this saber is a step in the right direction along with the Kylo Ren hilt.

It looks like Disney has acquired some of Hasbro's manufacturing assets. All but the sound board ingredient, but a better brain behind it all. They'll have to think bigger than the parks though.

Has anybody tried to mod their Rey saber so that the clamp is in the correct position? It would still leave the grips in the wrong position though, correct?

I suspect Hasbro owning the license is the reason these are park exclusives and they don’t sell them online or over the phone.

Is anyone making a run to the FL Disney parks and could possibly pick up one of the new kylo sabers with removable blades? I live near ucf and would be able to pick it up from you.

Just realized the Rey saber comes with a blade plug. Good thing I didn't throw out the box!

Now the problem is that it's a very empty blade plug. I'm thinking of making a run to home depot to try and find some sort of brass hardware to add to it for a bit more accuracy. Any suggestions?

I did something like this for my Ahsoka lightsaber as I did not want to spend a lot.

I'm hoping someone will do a youtube review of the Vader Disney saber, the pics so far look really good.
I originally wanted a graflex replica so I was looking at the Rey replicas and old Luke ones, and then I came across this thread. My friend was in Disney last week so I had to make a decision on which one to get. There are a ton of video reviews of the Rey DP saber and I wasn't too impressed with it. Some say the replica with the non removable blade is better. There was also the issue with the sound quality and Rey's blade seemed a bit dull.

There were no video reviews of the Vader but the pics of it in this thread changed my mind to get the DP Vader. I guess I was also hoping that maybe the Vader would be a bit better. I also have a 2007 Hasbro Vader that the switch broke and grips are getting sticky.

Just got the DP Vader today and the electronics seem to be the same as the Rey. Blade shut down is slow like the Rey's, the FOC is also the same as the blade light goes in and out and makes some clash sounds. Sound isn't that loud but I also didn't want the sound to be very loud like an Ultrasaber. Sound could be a little better but it isn't too bad, the biggest selling point for me was the finish and detail on the Vader.

Managed to pick up both the kylo and Vader fx from disney lat week. Wasn't fun dragging the kylo saber quite literally all around disney but that's what I get for waiting till the last day to get it. Oh well. I'm really digging them both. My only gripes is that I feel the sound of the kylo used is not as good as the original FX. Someone else also claimed that the parks version was louder but I don't feel I can agree. The other con is I don't feel the blades are nearly as bright. Other than that I love how they display and feel.

That’s called dedication!!

It was funny. I traversed from MGM, on the buses to Downtown Disney, the bus to the Contemporary, walked the sidewalk to Magic Kingdom, staying till midnight (about an hour total time spent in MK), then the monorail to travel center, then monorail to Epcot, and despite them not running the trams after midnight, one dude was shuttling people in a van directly to their cars- and we lucked out considering our car was the furthest away.

The whole night I was getting people 'miring the saber.

Out of curiosity why didn’t you just have it shipped?

My buddy bought 2 Rey sabers (the week of their launch) and just had them shipped home? I think for both of them it was 30 bucks, so roughly 15 bucks each?

I only ask because I wonder if shipping isn’t even a option anymore?

Oh it was. Thing is we drove to Orlando and had no reason to have it shipped. The day I got the vader, we weren't going anywhere else that night since we were doing the star wars desert party and they just held the saber at the front of the park until we left.
