Also we only see the world through the hunters eyes, there have to be other predators who build or catch food or repair their spacecraft and all of that stuff, maybe only hunters can see in the infrared (due to some kind of genetic or robotic tampering at birth or when they choose their profession) and the preds that have other jobs that are more dependent on text have vision more suited for reading. Plus for all we know the hunters could be using some kind of upper-class code language that is known only to them, and the normal written language of their kind is far simpler.
