Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

Oh dear, mine arrived today, and it's faulty !! Only half the saucer lights up. A sharp wack on the dish makes them come on briefly. Like a dry joint or loose connector. Only way to fix is to remove the plugs and screws argh! and find matching paint somewhere. Not much chance of a replacement. Waiting for the retailer to reply with some options. I think they kept the returns for replacements. I doubt they have gone through them all yet. They will ask you to return the saucer portion only. Once they receive it they will send you a new saucer out. Don't wait too long.

I picked up these LED lights on Amazon for $35. Four of them fit nicely in the crooks of the base. This pic looks a little blown out but it’s super cool in person. I can change the colors of the lights as well as the intensity.
Looks nice.

So, for those buying $1500 TOMYs off ebay, it would suck to buy an unopened Enterprise from someone else, not TOMY, who does not accept returns, to find that only half the saucer lights work. Ouch!!!

Yeah. That's why it would be good for those reselling to put disclaimers like AS IS...and warranty is void....

why would the warranty be voided? they all have the same manufacture date. it's not like the ship's attached to your social security number. it might be worth a used ford focus but you don't have to register it with the DMV like one. (unless you install a working warp core, of course, in which case i wont tell if you won't)

Well the warranty lasts a year. So if someone resold after a year it's void of course. But those buying now from resellers have no proof of purchase from Tomy. So I'm pretty sure it would not be covered.

It is insane that these are going for $1500...$1700 on ebay. Somebody just listed a few at $2500. I sold my 2nd one for $1275 and it sold in 10 mins. Looks like my display Enterprise is almost free for me :)

Again… everyone flies to the bottom of the terms and clicks accept.

“All returns must be sent back to our warehouse, located in Dyersville, Iowa. All returns will receive a refund issued in the original form of payment”.

Or is that just meaningless boilerplate legal jargon like TOMY being able to change the product without notice at their discretion?

They have your payment information, account number, invoice number, credit card information, and bill of lading.

If you resell this and it’s defective, the buyer will NOT be able to return it.

returns and warranty are apples and oranges. I sold one and there was an issue, Tomy is replacing the defective part, no receipt was required, just the order number, but I sent the buyer a copy of the receipt anyhoo just in case. everythin's gonna be ok, fellas.

Dammmmnnnnn nice job!!!! I should have bought two!!! LOL How much did you charge for shipping?

free, in my case. it shipped to them direct from tomy.
Wait did you buy it from someone then gave TOMY their address to ship to them directly? I thought most people bought two or five in some cases and then sold them upon receiving them.

I placed separate orders, changed the address on the sold one just prior to ship. the price was the same on single orders as buying the multipacks. i would imagine those shipped seperately too. can't imagine the box that could fit three of those beasts.

interestingly i looked and fed-ex ground was the cheapest ship option by far, ebay gives about a 50% discount and it winds up being as low as $26, depending on distance.

For all the angst over this ship and it's imperfections people want them! : ) 26 bids and counting.

Makes me happy but I hope the people at TOMY know that their final product made many people happy.

Many other auctions going to with all bids well over a grand now!

If only they knew about the Outlet Store !
