Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

The thing that made this attractive was the $600 price. Mileage will vary, but I wouldn’t drop a couple of grand on it. I certainly wouldn’t have bought one if that was the original retail on it.
Me to...I had a limit of 1200 but if it was more I would have balked. However, if TOMY delivers the REFIT I could go up to 1800 for one of those babies.

Limited edition pieces like these always instantly surpass the RRP immediately upon release, it isn't unusual. It is pretty much always people who missed the original pre-sales who are forced to pay the higher prices, because everyone else got in early.

Mine is still 100% without problems, still adore it and have it on display, albeit with the horrible double stand. I have a cat who has a habit of scratching his face on the ends of the nacelles, and I'm pretty sure he'd knock it over without the extra stability.
Cat wouldn't be black would he ? ;)

I wouldn't have been allowed to by one if it had been much more. That doesn't change the fact it is worth much much more. Actual sales to actual people ( or I assume so cause its ebay... who would buy their own stuff just to let ebay take 10% and give it to ebay?) are running almost 2k. I don't expect this effort to command MR prices.. but in 6 years? $2500 will be the bottom. A well done plastic model is worth 1k without question.

Too rich for my blood, but damned if I wouldn't be tempted. A refit, with in sequence spotlights? 2 seconds in programming , and $500+ a pop in execution.

Mine is still perfectly fine. I’ve actually had the same batteries in since I received my Enterprise. Of course I used brand new high capacity rechargeables not the cheap batteries that were supplied.

Turn her on once a day to make sure she works and to keep the motors fresh. Love the piece still and plan on keeping her until I die.
Yeah. still using the ones they gave me. Still fine. But then I only turn her on when i look at he. (shhush don't tell the wife)

Still waiting to see how you fed the wires from the 4 AA and 4 AAA dummy batts out through the tiny, tiny, almost non-existent gaps. Without pics … well, you know the rest.
Sorry. Completely forgot about this thread. So I’m out of town for quite a while so can’t take pics. The wires are so thin that they can easily come out of the battery compartments no problem. Then I run them down the supports. I bought the 4 aaa white wires and the 4 aa white wires from here - Shop Battery Eliminator Kits by Product

I take it Tomy has never announced a possible successor to this model? I expect they would have done so by now if they had any intention of doing one. The fact that they haven't makes me think they're done with these big Star Trek ships. :(

Could be that their mulling over what to do and working out the production kinks that hampered the TOS Enterprise. Plus I think they're busy getting the BTTF Delorean done. Not sure how big their team is so it could be they're handling one project at a time.

I did hear last year from a guy who worked on the TOS project that TOMY does indeed plan on doing more ships. But that was a year ago so things may have changed. I'm holding on hope that they will continue with more ships. I WANT A REFIT.

If we keep asking we're all gonna get it ! ;)

LOL more screaming it at the top of our lungs!!! LOL Hopefully TOMY is listening! :)

Well fellas if they do another , it definitely will be more expensive and probably not diecast. With the Complaints about seams and such, there is no chance they are going down that road again.

My hope is they’re trying to figure out and correct production errors for next time…if it’s even possible for them to correct that is. Work out the kinks and better prepare for future products.

Plus while there was some bitching and moaning the rest of us owners were mighty happy and some of the people who had canceled even expressed regrets for canceling. Hopefully TOMY got the message that there were plenty of happy customers…me being one of them…:)

Also there were a lot of people who didn’t even know about the TOS project and scrambled afterwards to find one. That’s a pretty good indication that demand probably would have been higher if they handled their promotion better.

Hoping for the best…REFIT!

Someone posted this on the TOMY FB page. Who knows if it's true. If it is, depending on price, I'd get it though as we all know my heart was for a REFIT. But this is a good consolation prize.

The next TOMY release in 1:350 scale.
All diecast NCC-1701D! Hope you have a garage...

Haha. That's not happening of course. The thing would be as big as a dinner table. Even if they did do a Enterprise D in Half that scale i would not get it. My diamond select is good enough for me.

Yeah but it would be so cool! The ship would probably collapse on itself from the diecast! LOL
