At a minimum this is what the shuttle should look like. This is from the Franklin Mint Diecast Enterprise from 30 years ago and this is the best Tomy could do with the shuttle.

Mine arrived. Shuttles are --okay, but with a definite seam on the port side. Not as clunky or chipped as in some pictures. . Impulse engines take a second tap to light ( maybe that is as described, I just didn't remember it) One window on the neck very orange - and not a mellow yellow. I assume that is supposed to be that way?

Overall very happy.

Update: Just noticed one of the screw plugs was missing at the top of the neck .. Luckily it was embedded in the styrofoam in the box, popped into place nicely. But Yeah, I would recommend looking over the both hulls to make sure all of the screw covers are there when you unpack and look for them in the box before things get moved..

I think this two piece design probably reflects a genuine intention to fill and sand the pieces... and then, at some point - probably due to cost - the decision was made to not do that. But Yeah, I fully expected a single neat die cast shuttle, and I am a little disappointed that isn't the case.

They are so tiny though I don't see why they are two pieces.

Unbelievable! I got a text from UPS saying my packages were delivered at 1:36pm. No one at home, so no signature. I left work early and rushed straight home. 3 boxes in my driveway by the garage! Sat there for almost an hour before I could get home to them. Definitely a "Condition Red Alert". So, apparently no signature required for mine. For a moment I thought maybe UPS delivered to my neighbor and got their signature. Nothing like waiting 15 months for high dollar items that require a signature, only to have some careless UPS driver ignore the signature requirement, so they can be left outside your home in plain sight for hours, just waiting to be "inherited" by someone else!!!

Oh man. What time were you supposed to receive them???

Said by 7pm today. Thing is I figured with the signature requirement they would have left a notice if I wasn't home and I would go pick them up after work. Oh well, no harm done. Saves me a trip, and I definitely wanted them today.

Mine says between 2 and 6pm Saturday. It better not arrive early and be left out in the open. I won't be home till just before 2...

So not exactly flush plugs then eh? Are the shuttles die-cast or plastic?
