Did anyone here get the Stargate Ra headdress from Propstore?

I'm running a test with the favorites email system now. If I am correct I should receive one for Prometheus items. I hate the movie, but I know those pop a lot lately compared to others in my favorite. What I am figuring out is that the only ones you'll get a email for are those movie in the propstore drop down list. They show different than if you type in your choice in the line below. If that's the case you will not get a email on any movie / actor that hasn't been listed before. If that is the case I would like maybe see it be resolved or updated at some point.

One other issue is that although you may add a film to your favourite list thereby ensuring that you are notified, the email doesn't come through immediately so, by the time you get the email, the prop may well have been snapped up already.

My test have been confirmed to what I thought. Items to movies that have been on the propstore site before you'll get an email. But only if you place the movie in your favorites by using the drop down list in the 1st line. Got the emails for Prometheus stuff, yet not for the mummy returns ( typed it in). Buddies helping did their lists in opposite of mine. So they hit on the the mummy returns ( drop box style) yet missed on Prometheus ( typed in).

So that's just a little insight for you guys out there. I'm just trying to help everyone out. So don't bomb me stating I'm trashing the propstore. It's the not the case at all. Just found a error in the system. It could help you get something you always wanted instead of being upset you missed it. Plus happy customers means return customers.

You are correct there. We did have some emails come in after the items went up for auction already. I almost forgot that part. Thank you

Thanks Monkey67 for this feedback - I will make sure that we call it to the attention of our IT team.

Very best,
Brandon

Hey all. I happen to have the original molds for the TV version of this piece, which looks almost identical. We are considering doing a run of them. Would love your guys input. How many of you are interested, and what would be a fair price that you would pay?

Alec

It's a nice piece, but for me, personally, I couldn't say "it looks almost identical". The movie version is Tatopoulos, the TV one is smaller (IIRC) and doesn't have the same impact design-wise, for me at least, can't speak for anyone else. Just a personal preference.

But I absolutely think you should do a run. Anubis helmets have sold at reasonably high prices, e.g. the cheaper of two recent runs was $900 without a headpiece. I wouldn't be interested myself at that kind of price for the TV version of Ra, but likely would be if you could manage a lower price.

(For the movie one, I'd be in like Flynn - halloooooo, new owner of the Propstore piece?) :lol

The movie and TV version are not at all similar.

Really?

Looks pretty damn close to me. Painting is different, but the rest is damn close.

Of course, I always screencap stuff. Good habit to get into.

Alec

I'm seeing very noticeable differences and I prefer the look of the movie helmet to the TV version, that never looked quite right to me.

Differences? Sure. "Not at all similar" is just a totally inaccurate statement.

And sure, prefer which ever one you want. I was just pointing out that your statement was inaccurate based on actual screencaps.

Alec

Yeah, 'similar' is a fair word. I like the almost Giger-like look of the face on the original - the SG1 version looks more normally human.

Wonder why they went to this trouble? If a private firm could release copies of the movie headdress, you'd have thought the TV production could have picked something up rather than commission a new sculpt.

Did a private firm release copies?

And if they did, it would not be surprising that the production wouldn't have known.
