Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. From what I can tell it looks like the media blasted one is the way to go but I could also be wrong too. I checked out most of this thread looking closely at the kill knife but it's really hard to tell.

That's what I was thinking as well. It definitely looks to me as if the screen used knife has more of a matte finish. I think it looks real sharp (pun intended) like that.

I'm not entirely sure the media blasting is accurate. I'm pretty sure it is just finished.

This is the most up close pic I have of the Kill Knife. I can't tell from it (looks finished to me still) but maybe someone else can.

So i got an email from the guy saying he will have the rachiotomy saws, and he said they should be available December 26th. so lets hope they are indeed the real saw we need. And castor, i was thinking the same earlier about having them custom made, my friend owns a metal work shop and am sure if i give him the specs of the blade he could make one, then i would have to see about the handle and see if it would be possible to get one of the ones off ebay with out the bump in it, taking that blade off, cutting the top part off since the blade is shorter, and actually bending that part up a bit, but my concern with those handles is if wether or not they will work as far as screwing the blade in or if that too will have to be custom made. im going to go by his shop monday to see what he can do. DP if you can get the dimensions of the blade itself that would be of great help and if this seller doens't really get the saw we want hopefully my friend and i can make some up.

yea, so if the seller is for real then we can get them that way, but i'll be pissed if they get all bought up before i get one lol. if he doesn't come through then im going to have my friend try to custom make them

So I am accompanying my friend to his machine shop to make a replica small bone saw. he is amazing at making custom things with metal so i believe he will be able to make this in 2 pieces. i just gotta try to get the exact measurement of the blade itself (including the part that goes inside the top of the handle and such, as well as the handle measurements them selves which i will base off the regular big bone saw since i believe the handles are the same except the part where the blade is screwed in and how the top part is curved up. i'll keep you posted, and if that seller turns out to be a flop and this comes out good ill see if any of you would be interested in buying one.

I'm sure DP can confirm, but I'm pretty sure the the rachiotomy handle is not only smaller, but shaped differently... slightly.

The handle is definitely smaller. Let me know exactly what you need and I'll get it to you.

i don't know if you would be willing to take the blade off and take a pic of it and measure how long it is, and how wide from the widest part because it says on the site that its 5.75in x 2in but not sure if thats the widest part, how far the in the blade goes into the handle, and how long it comes out of the top of the handle. and anyother measurements of the handle. and a separate pic of each the blade and handle by themselves, if thats to much to ask, no worries, hopefully the info from thermoscientific will do the job. but it would be much appreciated to get this made properly. is the width of the handles of the large and small the same width?
with all that info i am 99% sure i can have one made.

no, he hasn't fell through since he said that dec 26th they will be according to him, i'm just getting prepared in case he doesn't come through to be able to provide us with a stainless replica of it that is as exact as it can be.
