Given the age of the watch (assuming it is 70s era) and the fact the production would need more than one (two at least--one for Dexter, one for Harry*) that were nearly identical, the band is likely a replacement. Also, somewhere along the way (Season 3, I think) the band changed from a plain expansion band like this...

...to one with a textured surface down the middle like this:

*There are at least two watches. During my aforementioned viewing of the series I found at least one scene featuring Hall and Remar in the same shot (during one of Harry's "visitations") and they are both wearing "the" watch.

Here is a supersized image of that picture with the watch flipped. Whatever word is printed on top looks like only a few letters. There also looks like another word on the bottom. Maybe this will help somehow. I am blank here.

That was my half-joking attempt at reasserting my previous statements about the watch, hence the smiley. I'm reasonably certain "my" watch is at least close, but I'm not so pig-headed that I wouldn't admit to being wrong if/when better evidence presents itself.

From what I've seen, both in still photos and from examining the few semi-decent shots on the dvds, they are rectangular, though they're more of a "short" rectangle than a "long" rectangle.

As I attempted to explain earlier, still photographs of the watch can be misleading--shadows and reflections can lead you to believe you're seeing things that aren't really there. At this point, the best way to examine it to get all the little details right is to watch the dvds so that you can see it "in action". Admittedly, good views of the watch are few and far between and it can be time consuming, but it's really the only way to get a "good" look at it.

Besides, it's another excuse to watch Dexter. :cool

Also, for anyone trying to buy the Mundial knives. This website Search Results : CookwarePro.com Restaurant Equipment & Supplies has the 6" boning, 6" Chef knife, and 8" Bread knife for the cheapest I can find online. They're only about $26 each. Usually around $40 I've seen everywhere else.

Awesome pic Pitbull. Not sure if you saw this one but you can see it on the table. The blade looks a little weird to me. I haven't seen a blade this shape on any of the websites I been on looking at Bone Saws. Maybe the blade is custom? I still think the frame itself is easy enough to make out of the 8" Satterlee Bone Saw.

Based on that photo, I'd say it's not the '71 Timex Electric that I thought it was. Both the bezel around the crystal and the text on the dial are different. In fact, though I couldn't enlarge it enough to make out the text, I don't think it's even a Timex logo. Like the rest of Dexter's wardrobe, it's probably an obscure item that will take forever to identify and be next to impossible to obtain. :unsure

But IMO the '71 Timex is still good for a "close enough".

I just got back from a small poker game, and one of the guys was wearing one of these

and I asked him what model it is, because it looks alot like Dex's.

His didn't have the custom face, but I can't find a pic of one with a stock face. What do you guys think? The band looks right...

Has a shot, and while the text doesn't seem to match very well, I think It might be close...

EDIT: It might be close, but it's not exact. The arms are mostly straight, where Dexter's are curved...
