Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

Seems they've had that pick a while. This is from season 2, in the cabin. Look next to the shears. On a side note, Dexter's tools are a mess here. What a slob.

Nice catch DP. Wonder why Brian Bero said they added a new pick to the kit this season when in fact they didn't. I knew he used to have a different one for a bit but not the same.

Hey guys, just received a very informative email! Thought I'd share it here. Brian is a great guy and its pretty cool to hear he was here 'lurking'. :lol

"Just thought I’d drop you a quick email.

I finally had a chance to look up the RPF web site and take in your threads on the Dexter kill kits and other knives. You guys have done a huge amount of research on the pieces and they look great.

Just to let you guys know, none of the knives are media blasted or clear coated. Each and every knife and tool has the same finish. They are all brush grained… just like a DeLorean. If any of the finishes look different, it’s a trick of the lighting. Hope this helps to settle the differences on that.

I also noticed “Rbeato” comment at the end of the thread, on the pick not being new for season 7… I started on Dexter with Special Effects in season 3 and also started doing the knives towards the middle of that season. I never did and still haven’t seen any episodes before the end of Season 3. I was not aware of a pick before. The prop master gave me a photo of a pick this season, he saw on the internet and told me to make it… in black. The pick that is in Dexter’s bag now, is new and completely machined out of 7075 aluminum. Sorry if there’s any confusion.

Hope this helps. Merry Christmas !

Brian

Very cool guy. Good info to know. The lighting trick on the new boning knife looked blasted in the finale, glad it isn't. Crazy they had him just completely remake that pick entirely. He did a good job with it, they look the same.

That's very cool of him. I just ordered the hook knife and working on the ice pick now. For the garrotte I'm thinking about using a cheese cutter. I've seen a few of them on eBay with 36" wire on it with wooden handles. I'm thinking about getting one of those and painting the handles. I'm gonna start on my second kill tool set with all the custom knives Brian made.

Khan, just make a garrote, that way the handles are a more accurate size. Lowes has everything. Rather cheap to make. Hit me up if you need a list of parts.

Man am I happy I was able to grab a cleaver and put these together again.

A new season 7 kit would be good to put together but I need confirmation that they're all getting done before I even think to start buying pieces.

I already have another kill knife, keychain saw and large bone saw. Just paid for my hook knife and put some money away for lumen knife and more brian bero knives in the future.

I'm sure in time they can be made one way or another, it's just a matter of that new big knife on the left of the knife rolls handle being shown, the rest can be drawn up.

Hey guys if anyone still needs that ever elusive cleaver Ive got a few I can sell you guys! Also has anyone else interested enough to make an interest thread for the 2nd custom cleaver?

How much are you selling the Mundial Future Heavy Cleavers for?

I doubt we can replicate the new style cleaver without knowing what the handle looks like. Hopefully we see it next season or maybe if Brian Bero posts a pic of individual knives on his site.

I bought a mundial cleaver from the seller "st.croixenterprise" is that you Patrick Bateman? Also looking for a bread and 8"chefs knives. I'll keep an eye out for the bread knife Rbeato

Yep thats me, Ive got more coming though.

DP I was selling them for $60 a piece, and I still have a few even though those few I posted on ebay sold out. AND Ill keep eyes out for the bread and chefs knives for you khantalha

Rbeato and kahn, I reinvoiced both of you for the cleaver 15% cheaper, I found the proper one this morning. The one I had prior is nearly identical but significantly smaller and lighter. Also Rbeato, I found the bread knife at the same dealer, they have a bunch of out of make mundial equipment, the phone number is 6307395200.
