dexter watch

holy **** DP, something i've never noticed before.....the ticking hands are the same looking at your close up pics of your silver one and others it has the full on arrow thing goin, two points on the short end and the red arrow point at the other.

just had a few people say that the dial was not what the waltham 25 jewel looks like....and its like ummm sorry it is, i know you can see a tiny bit of gold but its the same face.
its ok wether i sell it or not now, i managed to come up with the money i needed by putting in some extra hours so i really dont need to sell the watch which im happy because atleast ill have one, and i know the bidder on ebay has zero feedback which again like the last auction suprise! same on this one for the same amount. and i cant retract his bid since its less than 12 hours left, so just gotta let it end and start a case once he doesnt pay to get my fees back from ebay, and ill get to keep my watch....which makes me happy. but people unless you are either A a watch collector, or B a real dex fan and want a watch like his, dont buy a gold one, the gold on the markers are plated to the metal used on the dials like mad to where the only way to have it completely off is having the dial stripped and the face would have to be re-painted and new writing would have to be printed so they could grind the gold off...i did speak to my uncle in oklahoma today who got all our my great grandfathers stuff and he said in his crazy okie voice "boy your great grandpa loved watches and had more than you can imagine, and he loved walthams movements so ill check to see what he has for you..."

Some out there really need to get up to speed if they want these watches that are popping up, had one guy say that the waltam watch isnt dexters watch, that it was a Vintage Timex Automatic and the walthams look nothing like Dexters.

like i said pinder, i believe most that were dying to have one have gotten them and now they will go back down in price. to around the $300ish range.....not the $800+

shiiiit my dad said he had a suprise for me today coming in and here it is...to the left my previous gold watch i plated, to the right with the band the actual stainless one.

god i need a better camera, this stainless one is like new almost, nice matte on the sides and nicely polished on the top with the W on the crown

You know what i think, after look at several different stainless ones and gold ones that i think this watch was made a few years but maybe at first the hands of the silver and gold were different, but a lot of stainless ones have the hands as the gold ones.
like yours DP and the one on the pic with that other type of band that was posted originally leaking the watch itself, those are flat at the end of the hands, but the stainless one that sold for $800 has the pointed hands as does mine....

Congrats bud!! Yea the one I have also has pointed hands.

its very strange, i have also found on SOME waltham 25j's that on the back they say automatic and some do not.
But here i now have 2 watches, with hopefully the one on the left pending its sale, but it will still include the band.

Yea shockingly how much and often i look at ebay for a stainless one, my dad is the one who catches one as soon as the auction was put up. and since i have a different account i never knew he got it, ****in shocked right now. i just can't literally believe the condition of it....i should get one of those custom plaque stands for one and wear the other lol, no i have no need for 2. just waiting to hear on the others pending sale. Love wearin this thing

yea im curious to know if anyone on here scored that one that recently sold with the band and everything, from the pics that thing looked as good as mine does, basically in mint condition. for a while mine stopped working, but i did some research and ended up getting it working again after almost having to pay $100+ to have it fixed, but now it works like a charm. Still so damn in shock my dad managed to get that for me.

Not to be a dick, but from the guidelines:

"Please refrain from the discussion of live or pending auctions. Auctions for items of interest to the board should be discussed AFTER the auction has closed. In the event where you suspect an auction item (or seller) is fraudulent, posting is permitted as a warning to other members. Members can post their own auctions in The Junkyard"

Which I can understand, as it may draw more people to an auction that will drive the price up. Although I do agree that the final sale price should reflect who wants it more, part of online auctioning is finding the item in the first place.

DP, is that your watch currently up? I traced the watch back to "Onkore". (presumably you, with all of the movie prop/memorabilia sales and purchases)

The guy that currently has it up appears to have scored another Waltham 25 out of a $55 lot 2 weeks ago. Can't believe I let that one slip by. He also has purchased Dexter's Twist-O-Flex separately (to put on the one in the current listing), so presumably this guy understands the 25 jewel's and the Twist-O-Flex's significance.

(Is inconspicuously talking about auctions that may or may not be for items of interest against forum guidelines?)
