Dexter Season 7 and 8

I thought it was very good, but I may have missed something. Did Debra leave the police department?

I saw an interview with Charlotte Rampling a few weeks ago and in it, it was mentioned that she is the one who helped Harry come up with the code. She also said this season wasn't going to end well for Dexter. I don't know if she said something she should not have or was just playing to everyone's fears.

I'm really tempted to walk over to that bench next time I go to Yard House and see if it still has the Laguerta plaque or holes from the pins/glue residue from where it was attached. That whole first part of the episode was filmed right across the water from the Queen Mary. Couldn't unsee.

Ya it was mentioned she left the force because she had a hard time coping with LaGuertas death. So she took a job as a bounty hunter. But it seems she might be doing something else as well since she was doing recon for drugs.

I thought the episode was good not great. Dexter for some odd reason was getting on my nerves. Reminds me of some emo high school kid. On another note, Im actually looking forward to Hannah coming back.

Thanks, I guess I missed that part and it does seem like something else might be going on. But with Deb you never know.

Yeah, I didn't like the way Dexter was acting either. Most of last season I didn't like how he was, but I blamed that on Hannah and was glad when he chose Deb over her. I'm not too thrilled with her coming back, but since she didn't die last season, I expected it. Maybe she will contribute to his downfall.

Especially when Dexter was acting nervous around Vogel in the lab

I've never been down there, but I'd guess the production put the bench there to film the episode and took it with them when they left, or replaced an existing bench with one of their own and swapped 'em back when they were done. Either way, if you do take that walk let us know what you find out.

Interesting season opener. I really hope they're not going to follow their previous pattern of complicating Dexter's life for 11 episodes and then have him implausibly get out of it all through a stream of ridiculous coincidences on the 12th. One way or another, I see plastic sheets in Dr. Vogel's future.

I don't. I see Dr. Vogel standing over Dexter's grave by season's end.

What are the options for how this ends? Dexter is killed, incarcerated, finds the meaning of life, or continues status quo. I can't think they leave this thing open. Unless ratings are crazy, in which case maybe they leave an opening for another last season.

With all of the hype in the advertising about these being the last 12 episodes, I think everyone involved has already decided this will be the last season. Of course, if they do leave it open-ended that allows for the possibility of Showtime revisiting the series in some way in the future.

they have to give us closure, regardless of what it is.
If they do a Sopranos ending...the unknowing haunts faithful viewers for ever.

I'm pretty sure I got this season figured out already, here's what I think...

I think that Dr. Vogel is the one killing those people, because she wants to get closer to Dexter, she's obviously very intriged by him because he's different from the other Psychopaths. I think later on she's going to end up killing him, either that or manipulate him into trying to kill Deb to protect himself, if she doesn't kill him I think Deb will either turn him in or kill him herself.

Not sure about the ending, but agreed about Dr. Vogel being the one who is killing everyone.

The way the murders are committed, its is a likely possibility, except
I don't know how she would have dragged the second victim in the middle of whatever this place was (skate park ?), it must be heavy for an older woman, unless she had a fourth victim Miami Metro hasn't found yet that did that for her...

Also not sure how Vogel could have lifted Sussman onto that hook out at his cabin. Dude wasn't necessarily light. Maybe she has super human strength..

if she really is behind it she puts on a good face. all the scared look/ reactions when dexter isn't around opening her door to find 2 gift boxes on her door step.

I'm not sure either, but she is doing a good job of getting into his head and from the previews for next week, she is messing with Debra too. If she is the one behind it all, she is good. But, as we have learned from the past seasons, the big baddy of the season isn't always who you think it is. We also still have Hannah to look forward too, that could play into all of this too.

I don't think it's her. She may have started things in motion, but if so, she's lost control of it. If you're orchestrating the whole thing, you don't get that scared at a knock on the door in your own house and then still show fear when seeing the 2 boxes and then opening them.

What if....

I think Vogel is going to get Deb to kill Dexter....that's my new theory after Sunday's episode.
