Dexter Season 7 and 8

What if....

I think Vogel is going to get Deb to kill Dexter....that's my new theory after Sunday's episode.

I don't know if it will be because of Vogel, but after what I've seen so far, I think Deb may kill him in the end.

I think Vogel has misdiagnosed Dexter. I don't know yet whether she did it on purpose to see if she could manipulate someone who had some other disorder into behaving like a psychopath or what, but the show has gone from suggesting that he might not be one to stating it pretty plainly.

She clearly has some interest in making him believe that he's a psychopath, despite knowing that he isn't one. I think figuring out why is supposed to be one of the components of this season's suspense. I'm guessing from her behavior that she is a psychopath, and her schtick is that she kills people with people who kill people.

Poor Dexter. A victim of circumstance. And I hope he can finally find his redemption. Although that probably means he needs to die...

It now appears that Vogel is manipulating Dexter, but to what end? It also looks like we are going to spend the rest of the season watching Deb try to kill Dexter while whatever happens to Dexter will probably come out of the blue. I also think he is going to die in the end, it is just a question of who actually kills him. But maybe that is what they want us to think, so...

Perhaps is death is done in saving someone (or a lot of someone's) and that no one ever finds out about his other side.

After watching last night's show, I have this feeling that Quinn is going to be the one to discover that Dexter is a serial killer...and maybe Deb will take out Quinn to save it from becoming known to everyone, then go back to being a cop and take over from where Dexter left off, after having learned 'the code' from Vogel. She's come to terms with it now, done a sort of 180, so I'm thinking it could be possible.

As many know, Showtime is considering a Dexter spin-off. Personally, if a spin-off is done, I'd like for it to follow Harrison in his 20s as he's going to school to be a crime scene investigator (his aunt Debra talked him into it), having to face the social stigma of being the son of the Bay Harbor Butcher everyday and having to walk the line between being a good person or being swallowed into the darkness like his father before him. Maybe even have some guest characters of the show turn up again in Harrison's life (maybe have Hannah McKay be the Moriarty to Harrison's Holmes?). Just my opinion of course.

They talk about a 'satifying' ending to the show, and I can't help but think that Dexter will not die, if that is the case. I can't believe him dying would be understood as being satisfying. Maybe he just quits being a killer once he has trained the new kid to do it.

I'm surprised this thread isn't exploding with comments - I guess I am just as guilty, but we are loving this season so far.
I've read no spoilers, and the cliffhanger was unexpected.
We don't have the foggiest idea how the season will end and being half way there already is disappointing; hate to see the series end (well, besides the spin-off, but if Dexter isn't in the spin-off, meh).

Well I, for one, don't trust the new kid at all. I think it's too late to teach him the code, dexter never killed an innocent before being taught the code, this one looks too slippery, it is going to end badly for him I think. If I were Dexter, I'd put him back on the table at the first misstep ! Last time he freed someone from his table, it didn't end very well... Although maybe hannah will somehow redeem herself ?

Yeah, Hanna is really the fly in the ointment as far as all my ideas go about Dexter. I can only think that she and Dexter are going to run off together, because I think Quinn is going to figure Dexter out and in order to save Dexter, Deb will convince Quinn to keep quiet somehow for Harrison's sake.

I agree that the new kid is not to be trusted, but I think Vogel will somehow convince Dexter that he can be taught the code. Maybe that is what ends up being the fatal flaw. But I'm so not sure about anything really. I go back and forth about whether I think Dexter will escape the country. I can't believe he would abandon Harrison, unless he knew Deb would be taking care of him. If she finds a stable relationship with her new boss, perhaps that could work.

Yeah I'm really up in the air as to how this is all going to play out. I'm 50/50 on it being status quo at the end of the season at this point.

we don't dig the new kid either.
Not having a clue how the season will turn out, I can say this for sure:
I do not want to see him taught the code and for the rumored spin-off to be about this kid, living in miami, featuring cast at miami metro from Dexter.
That would just seem like a ripoff reboot/remake or whatever ya wanna call it.

The kid will die. He has no control and no smarts about this whole thing. Hanna still didn't kill Dexter for a reason. She is still around for a reason. Not too sure why yet.

Like the rest of you, I have no idea how it is all going to work out and I can't figure out how we will get a satisfying end to the show if Dexter is killed or arrested. If this new kid were any older, I would almost think Vogel is getting Dexter to help him so that he can be caught as the killer instead of Dexter.

I knew Hannah was coming back and have NOT been looking forward to it. To me, any ending that involves him ending up with her will not be a good one for him or for us.
