Destiny (Video Game) Discussion

It's when you get to level 23-24 when things feel like they slow down a lot, at least for going solo. Leveling up vanguard and getting that nicer armor with light. It feels VERY LONG. After you get over that hump things get better (in my opinion). I'm still not tired of playing at all and it's just lots of fun.

I don't have any group though so doing Vault of Glass seems like a pipe dream. I wish they would implement the matchmaking system if you didn't already have a fireteam. This part of doing strikes is very annoying because I would like to play them if I could get a group together who would take part. I'm on odd hours of the night, so a matchmaking bot would be ideal.

Yeah i don't have a group for any strikes or anything like that. I figure once i get leveled up more i'd see about making a group with folks on here. Do xbox and ps players mix in the game or do they have separate servers for the 2 systems? I'm on at like 11pm to 3am lol. I agree, they should just give you AI partners like they did in Halo Reach. This is what alienated a lot of people, they want to be able to play everything single player with MP as an option.

NN, wes, let's do a weekly heroic or nightfall strike together, please! haha I can't believe Bungie thinks that this is the ideal way to partner up for these missions...

I can't believe Bungie did a lot of stuff with this game lol. Honestly i spend more time on the moon staring at the amazing backgrounds. I found the key to leveling up is hanging around for public events to hit, i was level 15 before i even finished the moon missions. We should start and RPF clan.

I've put down the controller for a bit I regards to this game. Yes it's fun but the balance of the grind vs content is lacking. I have my one level 30 titan and haven't felt motivated to level to 32 when I fear the new dlc drops it will be obsolete and my hunter is only lvl 15. Plus I hate that they don't have matchmaking for the VOG and Crotas End or the nightfall etc.

I wanted to try the iron banner but you need a team for that too, it's like they've made half the game unplayable. I can't believe they still haven't put a matchmaking system it, it can't be that hard of a patch or give us AI partners or something. Honestly given Bungie's past with Halo i can't see how any of this is happening with this game but i'm starting to think that Activision is pulling and EA and bullying them into doing things their way just so they'll publish it. Bungie's never been fans of DLC or half assed games unlike Activision who embrace both.

Well, I am playing this now. The Grandkids left it here when they went home. I am a level 25 warlock, on Xbox, going under Dutch58. I have only played 2 of the matched mission, everything else solo.
I don't take it too serious. :p So playing with others is a pain. :wacko They act as if there life depends on the game. The two times on missions, the minute the mission starts, there off and running. I guess they think everyone know where to go. :darnkids
I am will to partner up if you don't mind having an old fart along. Send me a message and mention the RPF.
I'm a bit surprised there's not and RPF group/clan.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas since I had lost interest after it's release and she had not. However, after watching her play it I got into it myself. I have a lvl 20 Hunter and I started playing a Warlock too(lvl 4 or 5). I also don't really take it seriously either and I mostly play by myself on hard settings except for Strikes and Vanguard missions that I am starting to enjoy now that I've unlocked them. But, because of time, I only play once or twice a week.

I've been lucky, i've not dealt with anyone taking it seriously but my only interaction is passing folks doing the story missions. I seem to attract snipers when i'm knee deep in badguys as they randomly lose their heads lol. Had to laugh the other night as a guy started dancing after we defended a satellite lol.

You can play Iron banner as a solo player, but for coordination and taking objectives, it's better to play with a group in chat.
Iron banner also is unrestricted. Meaning, if you're level 20-25 and you have rare gear and you're playing against someone
with all legendary/Exotic gear and weapons, you'll know the difference. I'm level 30 and I'm playing in a group...
and I'm still getting schooled. :) But having said that, I didn't play Iron banner at all until this last time. I wish I HAD
played it sooner. If you grind your way through, you have the chance to gain some decent armor and weapons that
are exclusive to the Iron Banner. My buddy (who somehow gets pretty lucky drops) had some time off and was able
to put in some hours into the game from last Thursday on, worked up to level 5 Iron
banner reputation got the IB rocket launcher, and hand cannon, and also got and really nice auto rifle as a random
drop item. It's pretty sweet with high rate of fire and good stability.

The random number generator Destiny uses to give out loot is one of the worst aspects of the game.
One of my friends consistently gets amazing loot drops (Legendary and Exotics) while I get squat.
Makes it kind of frustrating. During Iron banner he got 5 ship unlocks/Engrams

This weekend though, finally... after 3 months... I finally completed the Crucible requirement for the
Thorn Exotic handcannon bounty with my Hunter. I don't know how many times I almost gave up on that thing. :)

I would definitely be interested in an RPF clan!

I finally hit LVL 29 a couple nights ago. I don't think I can go any higher until Vault of Glass is complete from what I think i've read.

Also yeah... I can't do any strikes of the week without a group, so a lot of it becomes pretty unplayable.

I'm glad to know i can do the iron banner stuff at least. Holy god it's dragging on trying to raise my level at the moment. It goes from super fast to a big middle finger in your face lol. Sad part is i'm not sure i want to give up my scout rifle even if i finally find a rare one.

There are some decent scout rifles available with fun things like Auto fire and explosive rounds. :)

Suggestion: Play the strike playlist on the hardest settings (Rock is the hardest, Tiger I think is the second
hardest). You get a lot of blue engrams from doing the Rock strikes which at lower levels (under 30) can
get you some decent intermediate gear, both armor and weapons. You also have the chance to get Legendary
or exotic items as well. The harder strike level, the better the gear payouts.

Also, doing patrol missions will cause your faction rank (Vanguard, Dead Orbit, etc.) to level up, which will ALSO get you
a surprise package from the postmaster with gear and items each time you level up.

Yeah i go to the tower nightly for the bounties on top of the various missions. I picked up a 5.00 hardbound journal at christmas on barnes&noble and am thinking of distressing it to make it a Hunter journal or maybe a shared journal between the 3 characters i want. Also going to redo the special edition post cards to actually look old and worn and not so shiny. I've noticed that even some areas on the maps give the high ranking folks trouble, a level 30 got taken down by the Vex on mars last night. Mind you i cheated and bombarded them with missiles later on lol.
Anyone notice that the Awakened seem to be one of the races everyone picks most? There's a ton of them floating around, including me. I've been sidetracked with some of the free games from PS plus lately so i only do a bit at a time right now.

I admit, I my Warlock is an Awoken. I don't know why but it just seemed...right for the race/class. My main Hunter Character is all human though. It's kind of funny though when you go to the Rift for the first time as an Awoken and they don't treat you any differently. I would have expected something different than the same exact cutscene...some kind of recognition.

Anyways, need to get back to it. Hoping to have a chance this weekend to get some playtime in.

My buddy also has an Awoken Warlock, and he said the same thing about not being treated differently when he went to the Reef. :D

I have a human Hunter, Awoken Warlock and human Titan. My level fluctuates between level 29 and level 31, depending on which
armor I'm running (or leveling up) with which bonuses it has. Sometimes I'm forced into running higher level armor with bonuses
that don't benefit me, just so I don't take a damage penalty against high level bosses/encounters.

I wish I could have an additional character ow two, as I really wanted to create an Exo Titan. I made one during the Beta,
so I went a different route in the real game.

When you get groups of enemies spamming you, you can get taken out by low level groups pretty easily if you're not
paying attention, even as a high level character. :)

I would definitely be interested with playing Destiny with some of you. I'm still on the xbox 360. XBL = BLACKULA727

I really like the game, especially when friends are on. For me it's a great way to relax let off a little steam after work. I'm currently have two characters, a level 31 Warlock & a Level 29 Hunter. I'm planning on starting a Titan soon :)
