I like to bring this up every few years, just to torture myself.

So, anyone seen an accurate replica of the key, yet?

NOTE: Yeah, yeah, HMS made the prop for the film. Never could talk anyone there into pulling a few extras.
 
I've been waiting to see one of these for a long time. This was such a cool prop, I'm surprised there haven't been any accurate replicas. I saw another member that had one commissioned.
 
i could model it and print one when i get time... i've been so busy lately though. i'm not sure how to do the center gem though

I have been thinking of making one of these for a while. It's one of my favorite movies.

I'd love to know if anyone has some shots of the original piece.

I'm actually in the process of having one made! Like the OP, this is a prop I've been dying to own for years. As a big fan of the film I finally decided to commission a very talented sculptor in order to produce a screen accurate replica.

Will be sure to post pics once the piece has reached completion. :D

After seeing the results, I would love to get the sculptor's contact info to inquire about getting one made.
 
I might be making a 3D model of this soon. I wish there was some details plans or something for this. Guess I'll have to take screencaps of it directly from the movie.

Have you received the key yet? Would love to see the pictures.
 
Anything new on this? Wondering if I could get some nice photos to make a 3D model of it then make it into a papercraft model:) Thanks if u can.
