Democracy for the RPF?????

A forum, any forum is PRIVATE PROPERTY. It belongs to the person or persons who paid to register the domain, buy the software, and/or host the site. It is not a venue for democracy unless those who own the forum wish to let it become such. It is not community property no matter how many people use it.

Complaining that a site you voluntarily use and that is owned, run, and paid for by someone else somehow isn't "fairly" run is not just stupid -- it is presumptuous, self-absorbed, and greedy. It says you feel entitled to the product of someone else's labor and the results of someone else's spending.

That attitude revolts me. If you don't like a given forum, vote with your virtual feet and go somewhere else.

Nothing like posting where those you condemn can't defend themselves. :sick

I have to interject here, Juno. While some of the people he is referring to may not be bad guys/gals, the recent showing by a banned member doing the sock puppet bit, AGAIN, shows the character involved here. They have a history of trying to dismantle the forum that they used to be part of. So, what is there to defend? Do the actions last weekend of one prior banned member, who's SOLE PURPOSE was to sow discord among the members, need to be defended? If they hate this place sooo much, why do they keep trying to come back?

Word.

It continually amazes me how people get so sucked into the petty arguments on these forums.I had a quick look at the RPF OT last night:rolleyes

People seriously need to get a life. This is just a hobby forum at the end of the day..........

I'm all for civility and highbrow communication! In fact this thread helped me realize who you sort of remind me of Mic!

Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov from the great piece of literature Crime and Punishment.

I nominate you as Minsiter of Surliness and Standards!

j/k :lol
