I saw it. That was some cool footage from Ben Burtt.
Like I said in the other thread, I was there and saw it in person. There was without a doubt that the scene was an original scene. It was not newly filmed. It was very clearly young Hamill and the effects work and cinematography were consistent with the rest of the movie. Nobody who saw it in person questioned its authenticity. In fact, I think its kind of a ridiculous suggestion.
What was it? Lando's death? Dust storm scene? More Slave Leia footage?
Sand storm scene. Raw footage filmed from Ben Burtt's personal camera. He also filmed himself playing around inside the Falcon cockpit before it was to be destroyed.
They expressly asked us not to video tape it, because they were basically Ben Burtt's private home movies.
Cool! I wonder if the footage will every see the light of day on the Blu-ray release. Its a shame the Falcon cockpit was destroyed after. It should be in a museum or some dude's garage![]()
And this is where the lie becomes apparent. They had to restore the original theatrical versions in order to create the first not-so-Special Editions, so that's already been done. Yes, transferring them to digital is expensive, but it's no more expensive than tranferring the not-so-Special Editions and they're doing that. I think the truth is Lucas doesn't think the original theatrical versions would sell well enough for them to recoup the cost of transferring them for Blu-Ray. I'd much rather Lucas just admit he was never satisfied with the theatrical versions because the effects technology was not available at the time to tell the story the way he wanted to, which was pretty much his reasoning for doing the not-so-Special Editions in the first place.Lucas said that the original trilogy films included on the Blu-Ray release will be the remastered special editions. He explained:
“Releasing the originals is kind of an oxymoron because the quality of the original is not very good. You have to go through and do a whole restoration on it, and you have to do that digitally. It’s a very, very expensive process to do it. So when we did the transfer to digital, we only transferred really the upgraded version.”

There are some serious flaws to this whole scene.
First off, Mark states he doesn't recall ever filming this scene. Period.
Anthony Daniels recalls filming his portion, but he was alone in the scene.
Now they have footage with music and effects.
Now Mark recalls it fondly and that it was so ominous with the black cape and black glove and all.
Wait, what??!?
Black glove??? I saw no black glove. And if happens BEFORE he gets shot in the fake hand, why would there even be a mention of a glove.
And why am I the only nerd who picked up on Mark's black glove comment?
Luckily for you, though, the above clip will be staying put for your viewing enjoyment.
There are tons of websites where you can do that. Just copy the link, paste it, waiting for analyzing, right click and download.
Just use google and look for things like "saving youtube videos" (just in case u don't use firefox or aren't familiar with browser plugins).
