some dude posted 'vader rotj saber'...all he was selling was some screws and a shroud i think...i told him about it and he got pissed, last i looked , that aint a saber, its , well, almost nothing...i know i wouldnt have clicked on it if i knew it wasnt an actual saber but just scraps...i understand some titles will be in a grey area but if i post 'for sale 2009 MUSTANG' and all i am selling is a tire, thats absurd...and you know darned well, the seller KNOWS he is gonna get less clicks if if put the word PARTS...

added:the post i referred to was fixed, however, i still think it may be an issue for the future...

Get a life, man.

You may have inflamed your carpal tunnel syndrome by clicking on my "misleading" link. If so, I apologize.

Otherwise, just shut your whining up. I posted MUCH more in the ORIGINAL thread than "some screws and a shroud."

I did not get pissed until reading this crap. NOW I am pissed. I didn't falsely advertise, nor did I intentionally mislead anyone on what I have for sale.

I don't deserve a thread in the complaint department due to your inability to distinguish fact from drama queen BS.

I saw the resin pieces, a graflex end cap and top. What exactly are you carrying on about? It lacked the grips and clamp. ***** man, talk about carrying on for ZERO reason. Is your ice cream too cold too?

I kinda have to agree with everyone else, so put me in the "Who Gives a S#!T" Camp.

This thread doesn't need to be around. If you didn't like what you saw, hit the back button for ******'s sake. It took a lot more time and energy to post a new thread about it. Now instead of loosing 3 seconds of your life, I have a feeling you are going to loose hours by replying to and reading this thread.

Here's a program for you to follow if it bothers you.

openthread()
if(! interested)
{
moveon();
} else {
postreply();
}

Simple, no?

Brevin Din-Shay is an absolute stand up guy, and I would love to do business with him again. :thumbsup

I was lucky enough buy this kit. (which came with a clamp, yes unpictured.) Without knowing me, he gave me a sweet deal, and completely took care of me, with utter sincerity.

Don't find many folks like that, and it's good to keep them when you do.

So, complete enough for me.

Its one thing if an OT post is 'worded wrong' or not accurate, its different if it is in the junkyard because money is changing hands.

Actually enforcing accurate descriptions is very important there, if not generally , but for newer users that dont know the seller or arent familiar with his posts.

IF I see an ad, "FULL SIZED STORMTROOPER" I wouldnt expect to see only a pauldron for sale, how ISNT that misleading? And to the original vader seller, if your post wasnt misleading, why did you edit it?

I'd say he edited because he found out how.
He never said he wouldn't edit after you said it was innacurate he said he didn't know how, but rather than explain to him how you opened this thread.
I explained later in the thread how to edit the title which isn't all that obvious if you haven't done it before.
BTW he thanked me for explaining it so maybe that's a better route to go rather than calling for someones thread to be deleted because the title isn't clear, just ask them to make it clearer im sure 99% of the time they'll have no problem doing so to keep you happy because in the grand scheme of things it's not a huge issue.

Ortiz34, if something is bothering you about another user, PM a mod.
Spare us all your need for attention.

Actually, I think i did mention it in his thread and I didnt get a 'THANKS A LOT' type reply, it was more of one blaming me for questioning it. I posted this AFTER hours went by when it wasnt edited and edited my post here once it was, this isnt about this one seller, its for everyone...

My recolection is, you said brevin was falsley advertising to gain more views of his thread.
That is a very rude thing to say to a longtime user who hasen't posted in a while.
My opinion is you jumped to a wrong conclusion very quickly in that thread.
You come across as a very opinionated person to me, and a little hot headed.
my 2 cents

Yeah, sorry Ortiz gotta agree with the others here. You blew your cool and never offered help. You've been on a hyper-sensative critical kick here lately. Everything okay?

At the time, he may have been and like it or not, a lot of junkyard deals go bad doesnt matter if the seller is an rpf vet or not. Im GLAD the sale worked out, ive seen far too many that dont. I think if the JY was a bit more policed and strict some of the 'bad seller' threads may go away. IF you have time to sell an item here, you should also have time to be accurate in its description.

IF I post a JY thread 'Free rpf t shirts' and it turns out all im doing is sending people emails of a picture of a shirt, is that false advertising? I certainly would get some hits , wouldnt it?

No, wait. WTF, have you seen this on the RPF?
Are you saying this is what Brevin did?
Over the line man!

I looked at the thread, he posted pics. I would not think that was a full saber when I saw the pics.

Boils down to, you blew your cool over nothing. There is no way that anyone would have thought that was a full saber, regardless of what the original title said. Also, this is nothing like offering a free shirt like you mention above.

Well, this is a crusade that has pretty much blown up in Ortiz' face. Again, you are trying to make this more than it is because you seem to e angry over something. I've seen numerous JY posts where the item is not EXACTLY as I expected, but that does not mean the person needs to have a wrist slap, or to have someone like you accusing them of wrongdoing.

How about you put down your wannabe mod hat and let them do their job IF they think something is wrong.
