So i had started to work on my first ever weapon build, this is going to be learning as i go kind of experience as i have ever worked on any type of weapon before.
According to the Defiance website the Weapon is Po'Tech so there must an earth based gun under that frame! = Po'Tech, "old Earth technology that’s been cobbled together or jury rigged,"
Weapons « Walter Klassen FX Walter Klassen FX
The Wrong - First Approach : to create the pistol base I cut a Solid Block of MDF and Routed away. But after reading up on some about prop making master Harrison Krix on Tested.com. I ended up ditching this Approach.
Harrison suggests making many different Parts instead off making a weapon i one or two solid pieces. This makes total sense, as i did this there was more accuracy in the end.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The Right - Approach
so this time i divided the whole project into 3 different layers.
1-The Base 1st Layer (center)
2- Bigger Detail 2nd Layer (on top of center)
3- Smaller Detail 3rd layer Layer (top most layer)
Cut the 2nd Step Detail
Just the see how it all Fits.
Here is how it all looks with first two layers
NEXT UP-Glue the whole things together
