Death Star Gunner Costume

Well, I'm looking at doing a new costume this year for Halloween, and the Death Star Gunner is next on my list!

I can make the helmet, so no big issue there. It's basically an RFT helmet vac-formed in black, with the chin/jaw section added, and a visor. The decal I have already.

The boots, get recycled from my Rebel Fleet Trooper costume.

Add a black belt and use the buckle from my RFT.
Use the holster and neck seal from my Tk costume.

Add a black flight suit. Is this the same as a TIE fighter?
Add gauntlet gloves that I can reuse for othe costumes, like an X-wing. etc.
What am I missing?

I've seen some fans use Sandtrooper pauldrons as some sort of chest armor. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Costume guide for this costume?

I'v read the http://www.swtroopers.com/imp_costumes_dsg.htm
and I think thats a great start.

So is http://www.jedi-academy.com/imp_gunner_tips.html
but how accurate are these? Any screen caps showing the chest and other details? Blaster to be an E-11?

I recall seeing a photo in the 365 Days book that showed a gunner with something like a Vader suit on, too. I haven't seen a gunner with a pauldron on in the films that I can recall . . . perhaps that was shown in a comic form.

On page 40 of that book, the DSG looks to be wearing a similar undersuit to Vader, but also a Pauldron is seen too. The Gunner on his right, is wearing a smooth leather jacket.

They are also seen wearing hard chest armour too. There are a few DSG's that don't wear gloves too.

I personally use the black flightsuit and pauldron for my costume.

It looks like a smooth vest, and not a pauldron (look at his back). . . . The gunner in the background looks like he's wearing that smooth leather suit (or fabric) with the cog on his shoulder. I would opt for the fabric suit like the techs wear. See chapter 26 in the 365 Days book, too.
