Death Squad Commander - help identify headset

I’m looking for some help identifying a headset as seen on the Death Star Trooper/Death Squad Commander (as named on the old Kenner action figure card back). By chance, does anyone recognize the headphones/microphone used in this picture?

I’m guessing it is a military headset (headphones, microphone, and cord). Maybe British? Vietnam era? I have been searching a bit online, but haven’t found much. They are pretty large and certainly cover the ears. The mic comes from the right side. The cord appears to come down from the left side.

Or maybe I’m all wrong and is stereo headphones with an attached boom microphone and an old rotary phone cord hanging over his shoulder. Anyone have any other thoughts or can correctly identify them?

Thanks in advance!

Still researching. I'm starting to lean towards stereo headphones. There are some vintage white Pioneers that look close, but they don't have that "stepped" profile.

I'll continue the search.

Can you get a larger photo?

I have some ideas...

Ttaskmaster, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that is a part of the problem, there is very little additional material to go on. I really haven't found any larger photos to help. I do have my old Kenner action figure card back, but even that has lost resolution. I wish there was a photo on OfficialPix, but no luck.

Some other options (none great)...

You might try looking at Air Traffic Control headsets of the time. Particularly the Racal and Amplivox Accoustics range.

Reason being, Racal's RA-150 Minilite was used for the Millenium Falcon headsets.
Follows to reason, they picked up a load of surplus kit from the same place.

Nope, that's the mic boom on his right.
Coming in from the left is his chinstrap.

But I can see how you came to that conclusion... I'm off outside for one, myself.
Coming? :lol
