Deadpool harness & belt buckle

Any suggestions on what would be a good harness to use as a Deadpool harness? It's pretty much the last piece I need. It looks like this

Any ideas?

Re: Deadpool harness?

I have no experience or knowledge about this at all, but the only thing I can tell you is that for straps and harnesses going to thrift stores and canibalizing them for buckles and straps works, as I've read many N7 armor builds doing so because buying them individually is expensive.

After you cobble together stuff from those pieces for the harness I would imagine you'd use scrap plastic, styrene, foam, maybe even cardboard for whatever other details.

I have no solid reference on that, use my ideas with caution. :p

Re: Deadpool harness?

I've been planning a deadpool build and my plan is to check out local military surplus stores for harnesses. Deadpool basically just wears mil spec harnesses with a couple deadpool buckles that you'll have to fabricate.

Re: Deadpool harness?

i wanted to know the same thing lol. i love how that sword harness looks and i want something like it. i feel like im about to buy a back pack and jusst try to do some craftiness with that

Re: Deadpool harness?

I think you can just cut the bag of a backpack for that look. I've seen backpacks with a strap that can run across the chess so that may be something to check out.

Re: Deadpool harness?

Back pack straps, nylon webbing and 1in buckles. Oh and hot glue. Gunna need some hot glue.

Re: Deadpool harness?

look up pic of shoulder gun harnesses for inspiration, but you should be able to cobble together something for much cheaper than buying. To put it in perspective, my wife spent over $50 to get an underarm holster for her Domino costume. I made mine using a $5.99 tool belt from Home Depo. Live and Learn I guess.

Re: Deadpool harness?

I'll be creating a thread this weekend showcasing my Deadpool costume (I actually commissioned Knowone251 and his wife to make it for me), and I'm making my own Katana holster, a lot like the one you're looking to create. Take a look at my thread once it's up, it'll give you an idea of how to tackle it. Pretty much exactly like Knowone251 described, backpack straps, nylon webbing, 1 inch buckles. I won't be using any hot glue though, I'll be sewing and tying everything that needs to be attached.

Sewing is the preferred method, but hot glue is faster. Plus I hate sewing. My wonderful wife does all of the needle & thread work at KnowOne's Designs. Pop rivets can work as well and give a different look. Cant wait to see you fully suited up!

I think I might've found a decent harness, so my next issue is where do you guys get belt buckles besides eBay? I see a couple over the but they don't look too gat and I prefer a US seller.
