Re: Deadpool Movie version masks and full suits (collab with Yepiamzombie)
Hey guys, update time! I've got good news, then more good news and bad news (depending on how you look at it).
First the good news: All suits in my run are done, basically sewn and ready for me to start detailing them.
More good news: All accessories (except for the holsters) are now in production and I am planning to start mailing everyone their second packages with gloves/glove tops, belts, thigh strap with pouches and shins with boot covers to those of you still missing those. Expect tracking to start reaching you this month. Holsters/prop guns and scabbards with and without swords and boots will go on the third and last package a couple of months from now.
Now the bad news (depending on how you look at it). With the first run being completed and now looking back at all our expenses, labor and time now factoring in the accessories we're producing we are basically in the red. Yup, that means that due to our overhead, neither my partner nor I actually saw any sort of profit from all the work we put into these suits. While on one hand we couldn't be happier with the quality of what we put out there, and grateful for all you early bird supporters that helped us get this off the ground, we need to start seeing a little money back from our investments which include: Actual shop space (rent and utilities), a team of 8-10 people (seamstresses and helpers) working on these constantly aside from my partner and I, who we pay on a weekly basis (labor), our in-house screen printing (Equipment), our own work and time invested among other miscellaneous expenses that come about from constantly cranking these things out.
So for those who pulled the trigger early on these, you might be happy to know you paid a super discounted price for all you're getting and your suit will now also have a pretty decent re-sale value if you ever do decide to sell it. With the fact that these even got celebrity and mainstream buzz tied up to them, I'm sure you'll have no problem with that if you ever do sell. So congratulations to all who believed and supported this project early on! You are locked in to the original pricing and your balance remains the same if you haven't fully covered it yet.
For those who were on the fence...well, that's where the bad news comes in: Effective immediately, these are the new price/packages available:
Basic package: $3500 usd for the Mask, bodysuit, shoulder strap, screen printed gloves.
Maximum Effort: $4800 usd for all of the above plus combat boots included with shinguards and boot covers, back scabbard with removable swords, leather pouch belt with buckle, drop leg panel belt, holsters and 2 prop guns, cuffs and glove tops and boot sheath and dagger. That's the WHOLE enchilada!!
"I want it that way" package: 6K for everything from the ME package except the suit is made with a more breathable red fabric and real leather for the black portions. These materials are more expensive but closer to the hero suit used in the movie. This is the highest quality version we can produce and exactly the same as what AJ McLean requested for his suit.
A deposit of $500 is required to start, the rest can be done in monthly payments, as long as it's fully paid for by completion and before delivery. The deposit is non-refundable once work on your suit has begun and at least 50% of the balance is due within a month from initial date of deposit. The suit typically takes 2-3 months to complete. Shipping is additional and varies by location.
That's right. The $2500 package is no more and the basic starter suit is now $300 more expensive than the former ME package and does not include any of the accessories. The new ME package is considerably higher and there is a super deluxe aka "I want it that way" package for those who want and can afford real leather pieces and want the fabric that breathes more (and through some inside info we got, supposedly the actual fabric used in the movie).
Here are some pictures of the full suit (minus holsters) as worn by Chris Brown during his Halloween party.

I thought this was also pretty funny and perhaps the biggest compliment we've received so far! Our suit compared to the ACTUAL suit Ryan Reynolds owns, which Taylor swift got to wear for Halloween:

So there it is folks. As you've probably seen in my multiple previous posts about pricing, we did my best to keep prices the same for as long as we possibly could but now it's time to start seeing a little bit of that investment back, as well as support the shop for all future and very exciting projects to come. We've been cranking out movie quality stuff while working on microbudgets but we have bigger aspirations that we hope all of you will continue to be part of and enjoy! Like our recent work for Valiant and other hush hush projects we're currently working on
I will be updating pricing in first post and officially closing down the first run with our original prices and opening up the second with the new prices, for those who still want a suit
THANK YOU AGAIN to everyone!
