So finally got my replica back scabbard and I'm trying to figure out what to use as a shoulder strap to keep the scabbard in place on my back as the straps it comes with for under the arms just does not make it even on my back. Has anyone figured out a solution?

I was thinking maybe back pack strap on shoulder then what would I use to connect the rest?

You could go to a craft store like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joann's, etc. I recall seeing straps like you'd see on a backpack there.

Alternatively, you could look for a cheap/used duffle bag and use the shoulder strap from that. I bought one from Walmart for about $12 a year or two back, so I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find one online, or even the nylon strapping.

For the shoulder cushion piece, I say use some 4-6mm foam, cut it into a long oval and attach it to the strap.

Good luck!

Hey man! One of the techniques you could use are attaching magnets at the back!

For mine, I'm planning on using a messenger bag strap and sewing the pad on the strap onto the suit. Then the scabbard can be detachable either by magnets or velcro. I'd never go with the screws inside the scabbard as that would require assistance before you can put on the suit.

You can find nylon strapping and hardware in all manner of sizes at Rockywoods, Seattle Fabrics, BuckleGuy and Amazon. I would recommend buying the strapping by the cut yard and the hardware that you want/need and then you can assemble it exactly the way you want it to look and fit.
