Ill definitely be taking this on as soon as I free up my schedule from the costumes I'm already undertaking, anyone else feel up to the challenge.

The helmet looks awesome. ^___^
The lighting inside it is pretty impressive too, I wonder if it hurts your eyes.....
I was actually thinking about modeling the helmet to make a Pepakura file out of it. I probably wouldn't have the patience for the whole thing though, there would be sewing involved. x__x

Helmet is looking pretty good with the lights. I can't say im a big fan of the suit though... It doesn't have that gritty dirty look of the first. It looks too I'm a badass hi-tech highly-skilled solider vs I'm a random engineer that got thrown into a big mess. Maybe the whole style/mood of the game is different now, or hopefully it just translates better in-game.

Yeah in the game your setup returning to where you came from and the virus/epidemic has spread. You do start out still with the engineer suit but later on the costume above I guess is a solider suit. I think they might have thrown out the different level suits in slew of adding just a bunch of different ones. Also what suit you wear in the game allows the player better abilities. the solider suit of course will allow better movement and combat play. there are still lots of things in the works but I wouldnt mind taking my hand and try this suit or even the original suit. I never did like the costume they made for the original which was shown at E3, something about the bulkiness of the helmet made it look weirdly proportioned

i might make the one from the second one... but its much more detailed than the first one so i realy dont know... oh well, i will make either the first or second though!

Was that suit used to promote the game at events or something? I was at the MCM expo in the UK last October and I swear they had a guy wearing that exact suit outside the Dead Space 2 demo booth. Still looks just as awesome as I remember it.

yeah, it was made by a company called Renegade FX for EA's marketing division, and it was not cheap.

i love the costume, but i honestly can't think how to top this design, so when i do some dead space armor in the future, it'll be more likely the engineer suit or vintage.

I'm planning on attempting that particular suit for MegaCon next month.

next month?? better get your arse in gear, it does not look easy to build :)

I plan on doing the level 5 suit from dead space 1, and possible the security suit from 2. Not sure about the advanced or elite suits though.

I'm already on it and moving fairly quickly, I intend to have it built from cardboard and ready for a coat of resin by the end of Febuary. I have until March 15 to make sure it's ready, after that, I'll have no time for anything but finishing touches due to a 5 day trip to Tampa where I'll have no access to my costume or materials to work.

ive actualy started on the helmet for that one and from looking at the pictures of the one the company made, even though its dang awesome, its not 100% accurate. still cool though

Well remember, that suit was released in Spring 2010 if the dates I've found are accurate, and obviously the design has changed a bit since, so it wouldn't be perfectly screen accurate.

true, and back then that might have been what it was originally going to be. still awesome though, and not to much has changed.
