Darth Vader ROTJ Saber

Got a few PMs about this yet again, so here is the link to my very very old tutorial site for doing a build up of a DV ROTJ Graflex saber with EL parts (now that’s old school).

And yeah, I was going to update the tutorial at one point but just never got the time to take the pics during a build and do a rewrite.

Thanks for the comments everone, this was a fun buildup to do.
I received a lot of PM's on parts, our own obi1kenny helped me out with that end of the project :)

Hey Boba Frett, looks great man, very nice work on the build up.

One suggestion IÂ’d make if you want to go a little more accurate to the real deal is to replace the rear D-ring cap screws with pop rivets. But it looks and works just fine the way it is.

And yes, weathering will make a world of difference when it comes to the look of this saber. Pretty much just dang it around and scratch it a lot and you can achieve a pretty close representation to the real DV MOM saber.

Well this one that I did a while back might be a little much in the weathering actually, but you get the idea. More pics here:

Oh yeah, BTW, I just found a few extra machined aluminum shrouds that I had in the bottom of my tool box. Good find, so I might post those in the JY in a few days.

I didn't have good reference pics showing the D-ring, and I used red Locktite on the threads so that it would never come loose :confused

Thanks for the info though, I will do that on my next one :thumbsup

If you come across a metal activator in the bottom of that toolbox, let me know :)
