Just arrived in my hands, very nice cast and has a bit of weight to it. Very little clean up needed, there's almost zero flash even in the small details. Thanks again for making these available

Im doing minimal clean up on this and am not sure on paintup now. If i did, im wondering if anyone can source the hex screws for the grips and the 2 on the shroud because that could make this really pop

Hi guys, thanks a lot for this run. I really love it.

I started to work on it yesterday and did a first coat of paint.

This morning I did a second coat with a different aluminium paint to make it look like old and durty.
I used other colors to simulate some durt randomly. I did a first coat on the control box and added a D-ring as well.

This is my work in progress. It's far from being perfect and I still have to work on it but it can give you an idea of how it looks once painted.

Today I received a pot of C1 Metalizer chroming powder which I'm hoping to use on mine, but I'll need to experiment on something else first.

Edit: tried it on a blade plug I made for one of my Force FX hilts using a 3d printer, it's very unforgiving of my rushed surface prep but it is reflective and to me looks like old chrome that's a bit worn and rubbed, so hopefully the resin hilt will look OK when covered in it.

This was on a base coat of Steel Grey metallic spray. I'll do some more testing on various primers and base coats on some scrap plastic tube before going near the resin hilt though.

Yeah, there is. Sorry for taking so long, but real life intrudes sometimes

On top of that, its been in the 90's here in NH for a while and if you have every tried to pour resin when its that hot out, you have *zero* room for error because it kicks so damn fast.

I will be ordering more resin this week and will plan to start casting them as soon as I get it.

Looks like one of the touring sabers is up for sale which appears to be the same cast as these sabers. I posted a thread about it. http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=265535

It IS a different cast. the piece behind the emitter looks to be put on backwards, or its a different shaped part. Theres also a screw on the front, so it looks like it was the same saber, cast at a different time.

Just an update from my end. I ordered more resin last week and expect it any day now. I hope to get some casting started this weekend
