Darth Maul Fabric and Patterns??

I don't know why but I can't print the PDF files at this computer, I will do it next wednesday.

Today is one of these days where anything goes as it should go...

As always, I haven't found what I was looking for :) I have bought some light canvas for prototypes, and saw some linens, but they were really expensive, 60$/Yard...

Here is a scan:

I really hate them, I will buy the fabrics in USA, they're cheaper and there are more than here...

I havealso found the exact fabric of the scarf but... wait, what's this? Oh yes, 100% POLYESTER :angry

A perfect day... :thumbsup

With the extra money I had, I have bought a Clone Wars BluRay movie and a Darth Maul Mighty Mugs :)

I hope that is not $60USD per yard :eek!!!! That would be a little bit insane...I have some various weight linens in hand, but I'm still awaiting the fabrics that I think are going to be the most screen accurate.

Well, yes, it's :lol As I said, the fabrics are a really expensive here, and a very little types of them are being sold. Maybe that's because nowadays people don't want to sew. :confused

The black cotton fabric was around 12$/yard

Wow...that is crazy! Even the price for the cotton is pretty steep. I'd search around the internet buddy. 99% of all fabric suppliers (even on ebay) will send out samples for free or for a dollar or two.

Got a ton of the "good" fabrics today. I have found a "crinkled" silk that is great! I think it is the one I'm going to use. It is also semi-transparent so I am going to double line it with a layer of white and then black. It will allow the black of the silk to lighten up a bit and look more like the screen used color. I'll take some pictures tonight or tomorrow and post some links.

I've been out of it for the last couple days because of finals, but they are over! Over the next week or two, I am going to get a hold of a Pepsi costume and reverse engineer a full set of patterns. These patterns will be released FOR FREE to the community so everyone can have a great Maul costume!

Thanks!

I'm sending it out today! You'll have it by the end of the week.

I can wait to see the patterns! Thank you very much Eopie for sending it and Kwally for doing the patterns!

Here are some fabric samples I have. I used my iphone to take the pics and the lighting is terrible. I will scan them later so you can see the texture. The only problem with scans is that I cannot gauge how it will look in person. With a photo, you can "see" the size of the weave by depth perception...anyways here they are:

Raw Silk Tussah for outer robe. Nice, silky, and has a great weave.

Crinkled Silk Crepe. Very soft, crinkle is perfect, light but not too thin, and looks great backed with black or gray.

Raw Silk Noil. Great stuff, nice natural slubbed surface, drapes well, and is just awesome.

Lightweight Linen. Well....it is linen. What else can I say? The weave isn't that noticeable to the naked eye which makes it ideal for the inner tunic. It also easily allows light to pass through because of the natural shearness of the fabric. (shearness...is that even a word? Oh well)

ENJOY!!

Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know that I have one of Eopie's Pepsi costumes in hand. I will be making patterns from this costume that will be distributed for free to members here. Should be a fun little project!!

Kwally. I would love a set of patterns. I have a DM bust coming in the mail and I want to do a lifesize DM with it. I wasn't sure how I was going to do the patterns but you have come to the rescue. Thank you.
